Destiny: Rise of Iron - PS4 [Digital Code]

**EDIT** 9/22/16 After my article written on GameGravy and this review that I tweeted to Amazon Help and Bungie help, I received an email this morning at 12:36am that stated the following: We're contacting you about order #XXXXX for #Destiny: Rise of Iron - PS4 [Digital Code]. We recently learned that you were expecting to receive a pre-order bonus code to unlock the item Iron Gjallarwing Legendary Sparrow. Although this item wasn't originally included with Amazon pre-orders, you are now eligible to receive the Iron Gjallarwing Legendary Sparrow using the code below. Thank you Amazon for contacting Bungie to get these sparrow codes (also thank you Bungie), It's greatly appreciated. Even though the email was a bit snarky from Amazon, after all you did have an image that displayed both and then pulled it. I'm overall very happy now that I get to ride my Iron Sparrow through the plague lands and have updated my review from a 1 star to 5 star. For those reading this that need proof, I've updated both images proving I received my code from Amazon! I love Destiny and I'm really liking the Rise of Iron expansion. I would however not recommend anyone buy it on Amazon, I too fell prey to their advertising. Now my friends all have the coveted Iron Gjallarhorn and Iron Gjallarwing, and I only received the Gjallahorn. What a freaking rip off. I want my awesome pre-order sparrow. I'll never be duped by Amazon like that again on games. So if you're reading this do yourself a favor and pre-order on PSN or Gamestop or Xbox Live. Everyone who did received both pre-order bonuses.If you're like googling the heck out of this and you pre-ordered it from Amazon, sorry but you're in the same boat.

Disappointed that this preorder, unlike every other retailer, did not include the Iron Gjallarwing preorder bonus. There was a video listed at https://www.amazon.com/Destiny-Gjallarwing-Sparrow-Pre-order-Trailer/product-reviews/B01IUC9UPU that was later deleted. I would not have purchased it from Amazon if I knew this to be the case, and I definitely won't in the future unless they can make this right. The game itself is great, but poorly listed preorder exclusives make this a very disappointing purchase. The fact that they were able to include the weapon, but not the sparrow shows that somebody screwed up, because my friends that play purchased from a variety of retailers and received both bonuses. Edit: I want my review to reflect - it looks like the pressure put on Amazon, or Bungie, or both got them together, and it looks like codes were sent out for Gjallarwing. My email said "... We recently learned that you were expecting to receive a pre-order bonus code to unlock the item Iron Gjallarwing Legendary Sparrow. Although this item wasn't originally included with Amazon pre-orders, you are now eligible to receive the Iron Gjallarwing Legendary Sparrow using the code below". I'm disappointed in Amazon for not offering it in the first place, and deleting advertising after people pre-ordered but I'm glad they were able to take care of it in the end. DLC is awesome, and I'm changing my review to five stars.

Code works. I spoke with customer support this a.m. (9/19/16 ~10:30 a.m. AKT) who confirmed that the Sony network is having issues and may not show the content in your account immediately. For example, I've input the code, but can only see it under transaction/purchase history as a product purchase. Doesn't show up in my media at all. Note: this is all on the computer - haven't checked if it shows on PS4. Do also note you also must have the base game and ALL previous DLC to be able to input this code and have it go through. It's possible the code is showing as "invalid" for some people that don't have Destiny (base game), The Dark Below (DLC), House of Wolves (DLC) and The Taken King (DLC). If you do not have ANY of these, I recommend picking up a new copy of Destiny: The Taken King - Legendary Edition - PlayStation 4 which includes the base game + all previous DLCs. Other notes: (1) You don't need to pre-download; Destiny did that for you last week. (2) Since this is a preorder, you won't be able to access it until tomorrow. I'm not sure how this looks on the PS4 side but I bet that's part of the reason some people can't see it. (3) Yes, you do get the preorder bonuses (black Gjallarhorn and special sparrow) with this code, too.

Normally I don't do reviews. But I feel like Rise of Iron needs a higher rating than what it has now. The vast majority of the one star reviews are going to be about Amazon not having the same pre-order bonuses as it was supposed to. So for that, I understand the negative reviews but the game itself was fantastic. The new story line is fairly well done and the Plaguelands are well done. It's a post infection Cosmodrome and there are several areas I recognize from the original Cosmodrome that have been fantastically changed to fit the new story. There's quite a few things I haven't experienced yet like the Archon's Forge but if it's anything like the rest of the DCL I'm excited to see what it's all about. The new Crucible mode is a very welcome change. There's a lot more to say about the game but honestly I'm bad at reviews. So to sum it up, I very much recommend Rise of Iron.

UPDATE 2: Amazon came through and provided the missing Gjallerhorn sparrow/horn code last night. Code works and I was finally able to claim all of my pre-order bonus content. Changed review from 1 to 3 stars. Game is great and very entertaining. New Crucible Supremacy mode is amazing. Rating limited to 3 stars due to experience and time wasted with Amazon/Sony customer service and the various excuses I was repeatedly provided. UPDATE: The fault lies with Sony/Activision. I was able to present the issue, with associated evidence, to Amazon customer service. I ended up being included in a conference call with an Amazon customer service manager and Sony customer service. Amazon confirmed that all previous promotional materials, public statements, and Bungie advertisement boilerplate indicated that the sparrow would be included with pre-order. Amazon only received the initial Ghjallahorn sparrow promo code from Sony. The Sony representative tried to place blame on amazon in that they should have provided me with the correct code. However, the Amazon representative argued in my favor in that Sony did not provide them with the correct promo codes containing both exclusive items. At the end of the day, Sony then passed blame back directly to Activision and directed me to contact Activision customer service to resolve the issue. I plan to do this tomorrow and provide a further update. I strongly suggest everyone else with this issue to do the same and make sure to reference the cached screenshots and advertisement links. With enough complaints, Sony/Activision may actually step up and do something to resolve this. Pre-Order did not include Gjallawing despite having a trailer on their site showing and glorifying that as a pre-order bonus. The Bungie boilerplate text on the linked advertisement explicitly says that all pre-order content is not platform/vendor exclusive.

I am currently in the grind again... just when I thought I was out, Bungie pulled me back in! I had all three characters (Hunter,Titan,Warlock) at 335 when this came out and even after playing the initial expansions that were free, I'll admit I was a bit skeptical about paying $30 for this expansion. Honestly, I don't know why I ever doubted Bungie - this expansion is awesome! The storyline ties together a bit more, and with the new strikes/raid and light level it brings some fun back into a gain that seems to have never left my PS4 since I first purchased it. The new gear/weapons look awesome and players will not be disappointed in buying this should they still be on the fence about it. I'd hate to channel my inner Donald Trump but 'Trust me, many many people will tell you' that it is worth it!

All the people who rated this 1 star literally do not know how to play Destiny.. Do people even know that quests have to be completed in steps in order to get the Galjahorn? I sense a lack of laziness in people that don't do the grind, or do not know how to do anything at all, in order to make the expansion even more interesting. Believe my first thoughts when I saw that the raid is 370 light level, I thought it sucked, until I played a little more of what of the expansion had in store. Now I'm a 365 light level and still can beat the raid with not even that light level. I liked thid expansion more because of its setting, maps, weapons, etc.. I believe in my personal opinion, the Rise of Iron is a lot better than The Taken King. The Rise of Iron is definitely worth my $30.

Edit: Amazon came through and rewarded those who didn't get the code for the Gjallerwing Sparrow originally with a code to put in! Great customer service, even if so many people had to kick and scream to make ALL pre-order bonuses available as it should've been originally. Good on you Amazon. My sister is a happy Iron Lord now with a badass sparrow to boot. A single star only. Pre-orders are suppose to have the code for the Gjallarhorn and the Gjallarwing! NO GJALLERWING HERE. FALSE ADVERTISING. I bought this for my sister, who was excited to get all the goodies with the pre-order, and here she is with the game and the questline for the rocket launcher, and no fancy sparrow. This is completely and 100% upsetting, and I'll be blasting emails to anyone I can. This is unacceptable.
