Great for weighing those Great catches you want to know the exact weight of. Also grips and holds the fish securely by the mouth. Haven't had a fish come off yet. Only issue I've noticed is when u first turn it on you need to make sure ur holding it by the gripped handle or the digital screen and keep it vertical without moving it. It can take a few moments to calibrate once u turn it on if you are moving it around in ur hand causing u to either turn it off and try again or stand still hoping it will calibrate. But overall it's accurate and holds fish of nearly any size securely. Mainly used for weighing small/large mouth bass, perch and anything else I can safely grab properly by its jaw. Glad I purchased and when it eventually fails will buy again.

scale is good, just wish the strap came with 2 stoppers, one to the scale and one to tighten on your wrist. There is no good place to put the strap. Otherwise it is great.

I have tried other cheaper scales and they would never lock on to the final weight of the fish. This locks in to the final weight and it has been very accurate with the weight. The only issue I noticed this weekend is the scale didn't auto shut off. I weighed a 12 lb downrigger ball and it weighed 12.1 lbs

Got a request about turning on the scale gripper before you grip the fish by the lip. Well myself I just hit the little power button and the screen lights up, at 0-0. Then I grip the fish by the lip hold it up look at the display a couple weights will show then the actual weight shows up, set down the gripper and it will turn itself off, excellent feature. Un clip the trophy either toss back into the water or on the stringer. Excellent display and weight quickly. Now on turning on the scale after you grip the fish, not sure if the gripper is designed for that. But you can give it a try, but I figure turn the gripper on before you clip the lip... good luck..

Works like its saying it does

I was really looking forward to getting this gripper because I was tired of getting my thumbs chewed up while wrestling the hook out of catfish. I was also looking forward to being able to get an accurate weight, when I wanted to, on larger fish. First trip out with it just a week after receiving it, and the first fish I caught registered a mere 2 oz. on the scale, and it was obviously a 3-4 lb. class fish. Largest fish of the day only registered 1 lb. 2oz. When I got home, I weighed in on a known accurate food scale, and it weighed 6 lb. 1 oz. So it would appear that the scale in this is off by about 5 lbs. As a gripper, this works very well, and allows for easy release if desired, but if your looking for something to give you an accurate weight, you should probably look elsewhere. UPDATE: A couple days after the above review, Piscifun messaged me and offered to send me a replacement gripper. It arrived today, and I tested it with a couple of 5 lb weights from my exercise equipment. With one weight attached, it displayed 5 lb, 2 oz. With 2 weights attached, it displayed 10 lb, 2 oz. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with the replacement, and VERY impressed with their prompt and courteous customer service. I will not hesitate to purchase Piscifun products in the future. The photos attached are of the test of the replacement gripper.

Have been using a fish lip gripper like this one for three years. Lost it when releasing a 43 inch Musky as the fish thrashed. These devices make handling large fish much easier on the fish when removing lure hooks. I like this unit because it has a digital scale. I'm not sure how well the wrist band will work out since it doesn't have a dedicated anchoring lug, but time will tell.

Well made item which works perfectly as described. However the lanyard seems to be an afterthought in the design. An actual hole or clip to attach a lanyard would have been a better option.

Excellent, good grip on fish

Fishes do slipped off the tip of the grip, too smooth. No water breeches into the panel display, waterproofing ok. Also no rusting so far , I just wash it after use and spray down with WD40
