Braun ThermoScan 7 Digital Ear Thermometer for Adults, Babies & Infants, Age-Adjusted Fever Guidance, No. 1 Brand Recommended by Pediatricians

I have one child, and I have severe health anxiety. This thermometer is a fantastic purchase - it’s accurate, it’s quick, it’s easy to use. I’ve been through 15 different thermometers, they either stop working completely, or become inaccurate (as in, I’m 99 percent sure I’d be dead or dying if my body temp was 108F as according to my nonBraun secondary in-ear thermometer). So far, this thermometer has “predicted” an incoming illness twice. The first time my child looked a little “off”. All parents know what I mean - the pale face, the glazed eyes, being oddly tired mid-morning, knowing my kid usually measures a perfect 98.6, this Braun measures her at an elevated-for-her 99.5F. Sure enough, 101F by dinnertime. My second inaccurate forehead reader got her as her regular temp both times. My other in-ear read her as 98.6 and then at 99.9, when Braun said 101 and her demeanor/sick face said 101. I highly recommend saving your money, go with Braun instead of cheaping out like I did. It’s accurate always, especially when it matters.

Love this thermometer. I have tried a ton of different kinds and always come back to this one. It’s very consistent in the readings and comfortable to use and has different modes of readings from infants to babies and adults and saves the last couple of them in each mode used. Very nice.

I got this thermometer as one of those “future family” purchases. I’m not currently using it for a house full of sick kids, but I wanted to start collecting the practical things I know we’ll eventually need, instead of waiting until it’s midnight, someone has a fever, and I’m panic-buying whatever is available. This feels like a solid, reliable thermometer to have on hand. It’s easy to use, the reading is quick, and I like that it has the age-adjusted feature because fevers can feel confusing, especially when you’re thinking about babies or little kids. I also appreciate that it feels more serious and dependable than the cheaper thermometers I’ve had in the past. The ear covers are something to keep in mind because you’ll need replacements eventually, but I understand why they’re used. For something health-related, I’d rather have it feel clean and consistent than overly basic. Overall, this is the kind of item that may not seem exciting, but it feels like a smart investment. It gives me peace of mind knowing I already have a good thermometer ready for the future instead of scrambling later.

I love this thermometer. Always seems to be advertised more for infants, but it is my go-to for the entire family. I had a Braun ear thermometer from 20 years ago, that I was still using this past week for myself, but the button to press to get a reading was needing some extra pressure to make it work. Not bad for having something for 20 years! That is why I remain with Braun. I love that the lens filters I bought with the old one still work with this one. I am still able to buy them at the box stores if needed. Another selling point but probably will buy extra lens filters online to save myself the trouble. I did see a review where someone mentioned they wish it was rechargeable. Having kids in college now and much experience in checking for fevers over the years, I do not mind the AA batteries for this. It is not something you use every week and if the batteries go low you want a temp reading quick. Trying to charge something in a pinch is not my choice. I always have AA batteries around if needed. Older models have those flat batteries and I can tell you it is no fun digging around to find spares on those, or going to a store that may or may not have the flat batteries when you kid has a fever. I also love that the holding case lets you put the lens covers in the holder with the thermometer. No digging around. It is all right there. Only super minor thing I would fix is that when I tried to pull the thermometer out of the holder, I was pulling from the TOP near the lens. I thought it was wedged it, but it was not. You need to pull it out of the holder from about 3/4 of the way down, and the thermometer easily pulls out. The diagram did not really describe it well. I know a small thing, but in a pinch at 2am good for a parent to not need to figure that out for the first time. My ONLY suggestion to Braun would be to put a couple of arrows on the body of holder with arrows saying "Pull here". Like I said, if you pull at the top it will not come out. I know super minor, but a nice helpful touch. Great product though! I would recommend it.

Looks nice, fairly accurate as thermometers go, convenient to pop on the replacement covers from the box of replacement covers. But you have to always pick what mode (e.g. infant, adult etc) when you turn on after not using for the day. It would have been helpful if it had a memory and you just change when needed.

This is such an upgrade from the cheap pharmacy head one that we had. I was skeptical at first but Braun a worth the price if you want something accurate. I did a lot of research and didn't want to end up with another cheap thermometer like we had. It's great that it comes with some of sensor covers already and I can buy extras very easily. It's also battery operated (comes with it). Very easy to use, takes barely a couple seconds to get a reading and I like the feature that you can set the age group if it's for an infant or a toddler.

This ear thermometer is very easy to use and gives quick results. The readings seem accurate and it is comfortable, even for children. I am very satisfied with this product.

Accurate, screen lights up with corresponding colors, amazing product. Worth the splurge from their basic version.
