I was pleasantly surprised by this game and it's a bit of a family favorite right now. You arrange wooden pieces on a playing surface that resembles a wrestling ring. Then, use a platform to push a wooden piece on, usually causing other pieces to fall off. You usually push your opponent's piece off for the win, but there are some alternate win conditions. It's easy to learn and fun to play. Plus, lots of unique pieces add to the fun and variety. All the components are of high quality. One caution: It took a bit to figure out how to apply the red "ring post" pieces to the playing surface. Peel the round stickers and apply them to ring post and corners of the playing surface.

Kabuto Sumo is such a great game, easy to learn and fun for the whole family. It mixes clever dexterity mechanics with a cool theme and great production. I recommend getting some of the expansions for it like total mayhem to spice up the win conditions. Pros: -Easy to play -Great production -Fun design and nice art -Nice variety of powers Cons: -It's a dexterity game so if you are not into those might not be the best for you -I feel the platform from where the disk is pushed might sometimes be completely flush with the main board, (maybe it being wooden or plastic can mitigate this, but cost would go through the roof)

Another great game for my collection

A great dexterity game. The only criticism are the player aids or lack of them. There should be a detailed description of each character of the game and what they can do and how their abilities work. It's a bit unclear in the manual and on the character cards. Other than that, great fun.

Great game, more complicated/challenging than I expected, in a good way 🤗

I am going to be honest the biggest reason I picked up this game was the super cute artwork. And the artwork and quality of the pieces did not disappoint! The game pieces are high quality and long lasting and the artwork on the ring and cards and box is all darling and really sets the theme of the game. This game is a little fussy to setup (shaky hands are not good for setup) but the game play is very simple making this an easy game for kids and adults. Think if the arcade game where you try to knock off the ledge of coins and you pretty much can figure out this game. Its fun to try and figure out the best way to push the pieces to get things to fall out of the ring. I did find that you have to play on a firm level surface (we had a game mat down and the cushion of the mat made it hard to line up the pushing platform) for best results. My family doesn’t typically play dexterity based games but this one is charming and did captivate the audience.

Although a clever idea for a game, it really doesn't have a lot of replay value. Once you've pushed a few pieces off of the mat, you've pretty nearly seen everything the game has to offer. It was difficult to get anyone to play a second time.

what i like: it's an incredibly gorgeous game the art quality is all top notch the print quality is very high the pieces are well cut and easy to work with there's a depth of strategy combined with learning the mechanics and hand-eye coordination the game is super fun, and the variety of characters and pieces included (and available from other sets) gives even more variety between each game what i don't like: i wish there was a bit more organization options included in the box, but the game itself is amazing, and i cannot recommend it enough for someone who wants more variety in their game nights
