GORTAR Snap Caps Training Dummy Rounds Practice Safe Loading Firing Close to Real Weight

EDIT 2025/08/05: After seeing my review, the seller Gordon reached out to me to see if I would test a new TPU material they're using on the base of their 22LR snap caps to see if it would resolve the problems. He sent me replacement bases free of charge. I tested the new snap cap bases, and I'm happy to report that they work GREAT! I tested the snap caps in the same 22LR RIA Feather rifle, and all 5 magazines manually fed and ejected the dummy rounds without issue! And none of the magazine followers got stuck like they did with the old gummy rubber either - everything was very smooth! I give 5 STARS for the current version of this product, and 5 STARS for the amazing service and customer care by GORTAR. Thanks, Gordon! ***************** I have the .223 and 12 gauge versions of these snap caps, and those are great. BUT these .22LR ones are really not that great. The problem is that the orange rubber cover on the base thickens the base just enough to cause ejection problems. The orange rubber cover also extends very slightly over the edge of the round's base, causing these rounds to stick in magazines and fail to feed. For these reasons they're useless for dry fire practice or running drills. They're ideal for practicing to clear jams though! For the record, these experiences were on A RIA TM-22 Feather rifle. All 5 mags and the firearm itself feed and cycle live Federal ammo, so it's the snap caps causing the problems.

I purchased multiple caliber sizes and I am pleased with them all. They have a good feel and weight to them. Been perfect for teaching my Wife how to comfortably hold and use a gun, great for reloading practice as well. I would recommend these to anyone looking for training options.

Update - the company actually reached out to me and offered to send me their new all metal ones for free! They just arrived, and are much better for a lever gun! The weight is much closer to that of a real .357. I am super impressed with their customer service. For a lever gun, get their all metal ones (so your shells aren't trying to jump up out of the top when you rack the lever), for a revolver, the plastic tipped ones are fine though. I have a few brands of snap caps in various calibers, and the new all metal ones they sent as a replacement, are fantastic. Gortar does genuinely stand behind their products.

They are snap caps, kinda hard to mess up, they are pretty good quality and the replacement rubber ends is a nice add on, I also like the little case they come with, I do wish they came with replacement plastic prices though, other than that, very solid.
