I just got this and am having problem. using it. Can people clarify their technique. I put the pill in, but still can't get it to go down.

Jake- It sounds like you are still suffering from pill anxiety, you want to swallow the pill but you are still afraid. Common problem and it sounds like you do not have enough water in your mouth with the pill. The water carries the medication down your throat when you swallow and if you do not get a big enough mouthful of water it allows the pill to separate from the vehicle that is carrying it, the water. This means you swallow the water but not the pill. Do this. Use the cup for several days WITHOUT the pill and try to teach yourself to take larger mouthfuls of water, without choking of course. When you feel that you have more water in your mouth and you are comfortable with this amount, add the pill again. I think you will be able to swallow the water and not even "feel" the pill at all when you swallow. Best of luck to you!

Does this work with thickened liquid?

Absolutely not. This device was designed for solid pill/tablet form medication only. Thicken liquid will clog up the pill basket screen in the neck of the spout. Thank you for your inquiry!

How large are the holes the mouth piece? It looks like small pills would fall through.

This is very helpful for those who can’t use a straw. Unfortunately I can’t look at the cup as I left it for other residents after my Mom passed away.
