Sedd Out 60 Second Megranate Deseeder

I bought this for my mom for her birthday after seeing a video online reviewing it. My mom likes to put pomegranates in her salad and would painfully do each pomegranate by hand. This takes forever of course but she didn't know there might be a better way that wasn't going to make a huge mess. This device is a better way that doesn't make a huge mess. I made sure to follow the directions. I cut it in half and made cuts at each segment dividing area. I placed the device onto a shallow corelle bowl and then put the pomegranate onto the device. I covered the pomegranate with a baggie and banged away. I did find the baggie was essential to keep the mess away. I also found I needed to hold the device secure onto the bowl or it would slide about as a banged the back of the fruit with a big spoon. However, there wasn't much mess. It cleaned out almost all of the pomegranate in about a minute. I needed to pick out a few membranes, but it was no bother. This device is pretty awesome.

I bought this for my mother years ago and we love it! We finally shared our pomegranate secret with mamas little group of tea party girlfriends and now they all want one of their own. I’ve already bought one for her bff and needing another for her other girlfriend’s birthday! I know she will love it and it will be a great hit for all the Persian woman to see! Must have!

Easy to use. Perfect for time consuming.

I was skeptical about this at first and didn’t have high hopes for this to work that well but this is a total game changer! I was able to deseed almost a dozen pomegranates in the time it usually takes to deseed a single pomegranate by hand!! Trust me and buy it you will not regret making this purchase! I bought more to give as gifts for my mother and my mother in law as well. This tool is definitely a must-have for anyone who loves pomegranates.

I like that it is sturdy, not crazy that it is made of plastic (environmental concerns), but had fun whacking those pomegranates into releasing those tasty seeds! Whacking pomegranates with this gadget can get messy, so don't use it on your fine linen or wear your best clothes! It also knocks some pulp out with the seeds that you have to pick out, but it's mostly seeds. I deseeded more pomegranates faster than a person doing it the old fashion way with a spoon and fingers! Free Tip: I used a rubber mallet to whack with.

I received it used (stained with pomegranate juice) and it was sold as 'new' so that irritated me right off the bat. I make jelly out of my pomegranates which requires 5 cups of juice per batch so after looking at it I decided that it wouldn't be useful for my needs (way too slow a method of extraction). I opted for a commercial grade, lever action pomegranate juice extractor that was much more expensive but well worth the cost. If you're just looking for a once in a while treat, this may work for you, but for my purposes it was a bust. Pomegranates are a difficult fruit if you need the juice - spend the money if you have a tree and get a good quality extractor. And it really bothered me that it was sold as a 'new' product and it was already stained with juice. Tsk tsk tsk

I liked mine (acquired years ago) so purchased one to give our D-I-L . It arrived late/after she left, and it’s a good thing because this one has black tire-like marks around both the interior and exterior perimeters that not even a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser will remove. It’s not worth the effort of returning so now I have two. (I’m planning to send the D-I-L a more upscale deseeder-juicer and hope for the best.)

Easy to use and clean up. I had one for years and I misplaced it after reorganizing my kitchen, so I got another. Now I have 2, but they last and you can de-seed a pomegranate in just a couple minutes and not stain your fingers or counters. I have given these as presents as well and the recipients were also very pleased with how easy to use.
