I’ve tried countless hair dyes over the years, but Madison Reed’s 5NNN shade is hands-down the best at-home color I’ve ever used. I have naturally dark brown hair with a fair amount of stubborn gray, and I wanted a deep, neutral tone with full coverage — this delivered perfectly. The application process was smooth and user-friendly, with clear instructions and thoughtful extras like gloves, barrier cream, and a cleansing wipe. What really stood out was the lack of harsh chemical smell — no eye-watering ammonia here! Shade 5NNN gave me a rich, even, darkest neutral brown tone that didn’t skew red or ashy — just a pure, deep brunette. It covered every gray strand completely and left my hair looking dimensional, not flat or “boxy.” Even better, my hair felt softer and healthier afterward than it did before coloring

This left no color in my hair. Comes with 2 applications. The first I let it sit in my hair for 12 min. The 2nd I let sit for 20 min. Neither deposited any color. Better off to buy from the website directly.
