You're probably going to like this.
A boot was recommended for a custom Stanley I ordered online. Never used a boot before and never missed one. And I didn't love it at first because it was somewhat difficult to put in place and it covered part of my beautiful cup. What a fool I was. It's so nice to sit down a metal tumbler on any surface and not hear the clink sound. I felt the same about the straw cover and kept it in a drawer for a week or so - until I found a gnat resting in peace, in the bottom of my water. I am now a believer and have bought sets for my other tumblers.
