I was doing a ton of research on which helmet Bluetooth/intercom to get and of course the Sena ones kept coming up as the best and so no and so forth. I was ready to pull the trigger on SMH10-11 due to the it being reviewed for better sound quality/volume in the helmet, but just as I was about to I stumbled onto these in a review. I look them up and lots of reviews about this product are ex sena users whose devices broke and they opted for this cheaper option. I was sold and happily made the purchase to get two units for the price of one Sena. So about these: Setup: Took a sec in my first helmet, there aren't very clear directions about where to put the speakers or how to run them in the helmet so for my first helmet I didn't use any of the velcro/adhesive until I knew how it sounded and was sure I was right. I put the left one right behind the left ear pad, tried to run the wire behind the padding as much as I could up to over the head and put the right behind the right ear pad. The unit comes with both the boom and wired mic so you can choose whichever fits your helmet style. You can use either for a regular full face, but have to use the boom for open face/ modular ones. I choose the cable one since it was a regular full face, fan it up to right in front of my mouth and used some electrical tape to just hold the wire on the helmet so the mic flops around a bit but stays mostly in front of my mouth. After that pairing with my phone and use was easy. After installing it on the first helmet, the second was much easier. However, I will note that since the second helmet was brand new, and the first was about 12 years old, the second helmet had little cutouts behind the ear pads to specifically put speakers. It also allowed all the padding to move around so it was much easier to hide the wires completely behind the padding. This helmet was a modular helmet so it needed the boom mic. It was pretty straight forward. One other thing, not sure if this is due to manufacturer or age, but the first helmet the side where I needed to mount the unit wasn't flat so it makes it wobble a bit, the second unit it's perfectly flat so the unit sits snuggly on the side of the helmet Sound Quality: Once paired up I cranked the volume up standing in the living room to see how it sounded with my speaker placement. They got pretty loud but crackled at high volumes. There's not a lot of low end on these so any bass heavy songs will sound like a phone speaker kinda. I made a call and the person on the other end was ringing through loud and clear and they could hear me as well. Next I hopped on the bike and took it up to highway speeds. I noticed I could barely hear the music and definitely couldn't hear phone calls. However, people on the phone said they couldn't hear the bike or wind and I was crystal clear. I figured the situation might have been due to my speaker placement. I got back home, shifted the speakers around a bit and tried again. This time, much better audio quality all around. On the second helmet I haven't tried the road test as yet since it came in a bit later and it's winter now so it's harder to find comfortable days to go out. Intercom: Intercom setup was a little confusing at first, but I attribute that to me misunderstanding the directions. I believe the two units come paired already out the box and in trying to set them up I unpaired them. I then re-paired them following the directions in the book and tested them out. Initially the second unit the sound wasn't coming through to the first, but it was because we were testing in the house and the second person wasn't speaking loud enough to get over the noise cancellation of the mic. Once they started speaking louder as you would on the bike, everything came through loud and clear. I haven't been able to try the pairing on the bike because as stated above it's still winter and is hard to find good days to ride. Conclusion: So far I'm definitely happy with this purchase. The price for two units was cheaper than a single Sena. The sound quality seems to be pretty awesome so far. The setup was pretty easy, the Bluetooth is easy to operate the voice commands. The buttons are raised and are distinct enough to be easily identified and pressed. I'm excited to test this on longer rides with both units on. P.S. I also have a newer helmet coming in and I'll transfer the unit from my first helmet to this one and see if It improves the audio quality more.

Update: since my review I’ve been very pleased with the customer service I’ve received. ————- Based in sound, speed and helmet type because we both have 2 completely different experiences with it. My helmet is Z1R Mid- the padding doesn’t push right against my ears which we think is why it makes a difference. It sounds great if you’re not driving, super loud and I can hear my husband clear. Pass 55mph the music sounds like as if you’re listening to the live version of whatever song you’re playing Pass 65mph you can hear the music, can’t really make out the words unless you know the lyrics. Ad once you hit 70-75mph the sound of the wind itself over powers the sound of everything, you know there’s music playing but the sound of the wind takes over. As far as the speaker goes, Once you pass 65 mph it’s really really hard to hear someone talk. The wind is too loud to make out the words. The pair sharing mic does work but you have to wait about 10-15 secs after pressing it to start talking. Sometimes after you ended the mic sharing option the music you had playing does not play again automatically which it should. And pressing play doesn’t make it play either. I’ve had to pull my phone out and hit play from there. Which defeats the purpose of Bluetooth in my opinion. Over all, my AirPods have better quality as far as sound goes. I think it’s because it cancels out some of the wind noice since it’s directly in your ear. The only plus side about these is that you can communicate with the other person, easier. Since sometimes Siri can’t hear me after 50mph The set up was super easy, you can adjust the placement of the speakers inside as many times as needed (my helmet does not have ear cutouts so the placement of the ears isn’t as specific as it is on my husband helmet making it harder to place them in the right spot but after a few tries we got it in the right place, this makes a significant difference in sound) , pairing both together was easy as well as pairing it to the phone. Came with 2 different sets of speakers. I assume one is for 1/2 helmets and the other for full face. Now that was for my helmet - (Z1R) For my husbands helmet - BELL mid his sounds much better and he can hear me clear as day. Even at 80mph and up no issues with his other than the music not playing automatically after the mic sharing. His helmet does press on his ears and is more noice cancelling than mines is. Which we think it’s why his had no issues with sound. His helmet had ear cutouts so it shows exactly where the ears go in the helmet making it easier to place the speakers in the right spot his helmet. The mic does sound a bit loud, but then again you’re on a bike right! We placed the actual Bluetooth device on the right for one helmet and on the left side for the other one. So it is modifiable from side to side depending on which is more comfortable. The buttons are relative hard to press with gloves on, but it gets easier to find the right button after a while. Make sure to not dubble press the volume up button and hold it instead Bcus it will call whomever you last called. Over all for me the experience is a 3.5/5 For my husband it’s a 5/5 Considering price and all, Giving it a 4/5 I would buy these again, and I do suggest them. Noting that your helmet type does play a big factor.

So, I've had the opportunity to listen to music by Bluetooth and there is a lack of bass as others have said. There is lots of treble, so the sound is far from muddy but I wish there was more bass. Phone call quality is great. I have a flip face helmet and even with the face up and the sun visor down, the person on the other end can hear great. The noise canceling of the wind is great. Have yet to try the intercom since my friend that has the other set is not close by, but we tend to ride in the summertime over a few days quite a bit, so that will be nice to test in terms of overall distance from each other when riding. Have another friend that is taking the motorcycle course, so will end up buying another system from this company to keep the brand the same amongst the three of us. Would I buy again if something happens to my current set...probably. Mounting was simple with the 3M tape to my helmet and wiring took a bit to get it just right, but simple install. Synced no problem with my phone and using Android Auto with this device makes things easy. I would recommend for the most part if you are looking for something that is not too expensive. Battery life via music streaming is pretty good. I usually ride 80km a day and could probably go 4 days without charging, so a big plus there. All in all a decent product that arrived pretty quickly, especially since it went to an APO mailbox.

Seems pretty decent so far. Bought these to replace my old Scala rider headsets, as they’re much cheaper in price, and we mostly wanted to listen to music and navigation while riding. Battery life has been great. Says it takes 2.5 hrs to fully charge, but I usually plug it in on Sunday night, and use it all week back and forth to work on a single charge. I’ve never gotten below 50%, even after some long weekend rides. Sound of the speakers is plenty fine. Not a lot of bass, but they’re small speakers so that’s expected. My only complaint here is that my scala units raised and lowered the volume automatically with speed, these don’t do that. Again, more money generally gives you more features, so I can live with it. Using the clamp-on style clip, as the shape of the stick-on style made them too flimsy for me to trust. Depends on the curve of your helmet, but for me it didn’t match, so the double sided tape only had a very thin area to stick at the top and bottom edges, leaving the middle unstuck. No big deal, but I don’t remove it from my helmet to charge or anything. My scala I used to take off when I’d park my bike and leave my helmet chained to it for long periods so it wouldn’t get stolen. This unit’s plastic clip seems kind of flimsy, so I try not to pull it on and off very often. Bluetooth sync’s no problem to three different devices I’ve connected to. Have only tested the intercom across the house, but did notice it was staticky after pairing the units. May just be a line of sight thing, so I can’t really knock it until I test further on the road. Overall it gets the job done, and for the pair, it was still cheaper than purchasing one of the more namebrand units. Over 6 month review- Still very happy with these headsets. The girlfriend and I are able to listen to whatever we want independently, but with the quick button tap and wait for the beep, and we can chat. Automatically ends the chat after a short period of silence, and back to music/nav you go. Sound is decent and plenty loud. Battery life has been outstanding! I ride about a half hour each way to work everyday and only charge it about once every two weeks. Good choice and very affordable compared to the top brands in this market.

These are definitely better than my old Sena. Installation was easy, I have 2 Typhoon Snell helmets and they were very manageable. The cords are not stiff and wiggled there way into the best spots to manage and hide them. You can definitely tell these are made to blast sound through multiple layers of padding. But with the cut outs for speakers in my Typhoons, they were unbareable above 50% volume. But thats not to say they didn't sound good, just that it was very harsh frequencies. I am fully deaf in the left and the right is affected by high frequencies and causes pain. My circumstances are entirely unique to myself and probably a few handful of others, so I can't knock it just because of that. My wife said hers sounds perfectly clear so I took her word for it. Communication between the too is grand as well. Syncing them up is pretty easy once you know how to do it, it was confusing at first, but what new thing isn't. We walked all around the house, around the yard, and never lost connection and could hear each other perfectly. There is about a .3 millisecond delay between the too, but unless you're looking for the delay, you will not notice it. I also appreciate that they came with 2 options for microphones, we used the soft mic without the boom arm since we wear full face helmets. Very adaptable to your liking. The only thing I wish is that removing the unit from the side of the helmet could be easier. I used a butter knife to slip behind the pin and pop it off. But at the same time this is just a minor nit pick, it's held on very securely. Overall, if I ever lost one, I would absolutely buy one again. Solid value

⭐⭐⭐ (3 stars) I really wanted to like these because the price is attractive and the build quality and sound are actually pretty decent. Initial setup seemed fine, but real-world use was a different story. We bought these specifically to use the intercom feature between two riders, and that’s where they became frustrating. Many rides started with 10–15 minutes of trying to get them to connect properly, even when following the manual step-by-step. Sometimes they would connect quickly, other times they wouldn’t, or would drop and need to be re-paired. The inconsistency is the main issue. When they worked, they were fine — but getting them to work reliably every time was the problem. If you’re mainly using these for music or occasional use, they may be perfectly acceptable. But if you plan to use the intercom regularly between riders, be aware that the connection process can be unpredictable and frustrating. We ended up switching to another system and had immediate, consistent connections with much less effort.

If you are looking at helmet communication / Bluetooth devices, these are an excellent choice! I was very skeptical at purchasing a "cheap Chinese" Bluetooth comm unit and was leaning towards the Cardo FreeCom 2+. But, after reading every review I could find on Lexin products, I went with it. I am VERY pleased with this purchase because it works well! -Easy to install on my Fly Conquest helmet. -Easy to pair! Paired to my iPhone 6s with no issues, very quickly. And, quickly and easily paired with the 2nd Lexin unit I bought (duo). -Paired and works well with a different brand integrated Bluetooth helmet that I own. -Volume is incredible! I have hearing loss from my job and I have NO issues with the volume output of these. In fact, I had to turn down the volume because it was way too loud at first. I typically run it at 1/2 - 3/4 volume. -Intercom (rider to pillion) was excellent and had no issues hearing when speaking in a normal conversation tone while traveling at 65 MPH with face-shields partially open. When the face shield is closed it is crystal clear. -Phone calls are crystal clear with little to no wind noise (used with a Fly Conquest full-faced helmet). I received a call from my wife (driving her car) and me on my bike traveling 65 mph and had no issues communicating or hearing each-other in normal voices. -Audio quality is decent. I did not expect Bose, Klipsch, Sennheiser or Beats quality sound from this unit. However, the sound quality is not bad when fitted well in your helmet. It takes a little work for positioning the speakers to get them in the right location (directly over the ears). But, It makes a huge difference in sound quality. I noticed that sound quality drops exponentially when the speaker is not directly over / covering the ears. So, be sure to position them correctly and I am sure you will be happy with the sound quality, for what these are. I ride a sport-tourer with stock exhaust. I have read in some reviews that they "are not loud enough to hear over the exhaust..." that is ridiculous. If this is the case the exhaust is too loud. Period. If I had to make an educated guess, this came from a V-Twin cruiser with custom exhaust and or straight pipes. I am very happy with these units and I am please with the purchase. I would recommend them without hesitation.

I got these to wear while I passenger on my husband's motorcycle. Finally being able communicate is amazing. The intercoms worked great and we never heard one bit of wind noise. Our favorite feature is the ability to connect more, so we will purchase additional ones as gifts for others we ride with. However, there are a couple things buyers should be aware of that we learned within our first 5 rides with them, over a 10 day vacation: 1. Do NOT hit buttons on accident. My husband commonly hit random buttons as he put his helmet on and off at stops. The unit gets confused. It stays on but stops working. The only way to reset them is to turn off and wait a few minutes before turning back on. After he started being more careful, we stopped having the issue. 2. It's weird that the power button does not turn them on and off, you must hold down 2 buttons for on and off. This is really just a reiteration of #1.... because randomly hitting jusy the power button just messes things up. but read the manual and know what buttons to push and when. 3. We tried to connect bluetooth for music twice and gave up. I'm not convinced yet that there's an issue, we were anxious to get on the road with the intercoms. During our attempts for connnect his iPhone we got the Bluetooth to connect to and he could play music. but once we connected for intercom the music stopped playing in his helmet and we never got it to play in mine. When we rode off without music but keeping phone connected he started hearing a beep every 30 seconds or so. This was super annoying and he had to turn his phones bluetooth off. Once again, I'm not positive this isn't user error... but we did follow the instructions in the manual twice without succes. 4. There are two mics with each unit and a clear winner, the mic that sticks directly to the helmet. The one that looks like a classic Britney Spears accessory does not stay bent perfectly still. When it moves and props up against the helmet the vibrations of the bike make a constant annoying radio static noise for the other listener. 5. The wind noise cancellation is AMAZING! Open visors, going down the highway at 70+mph or winding through curves and there was NEVER a distortion from wind. 6. We fully charged them before and after our first ride. Then we tested them to see how long they would last. Over the next week we rode at least 5 times, each for about 2 or 3 hours, keeping them on at stops. The battery said 100% each time we put them on. After at least 10 hours of intercom only there still seems to be plenty of battery life in them. We haven't tested connecting to a 3rd rider yet but are excited to test that functionality next spring.

My friend and I have had these for a few years now and they're still working perfectly, i commute almost every day and sometimes in heavy rain too, the sound quality isnt amazing but good enough. Sometimes getting them to pair up can be annoying but thats bluetooth in a nutshell anyway, I dont really see the point in buying a more expensive headset this works well for weekend rides with friends and gps directions and music too.

Brought a set during the Amazon Day deals. These headset are a must for ATVing. Fairly easy to install and to pair up with another set. Went out ATVing for 8hrs and it was about -10 degress the whole day... Battery life is incredible, never had a issue. These are good for about 150-200ish ft line of sight. Had no problems with keeping communication through wooded areas. We couldn't believe the clarity and ample volume the speaker's had...it was beyond impressive. I previously had a expensive Cardo headset system- it was junk,even at max volume we couldn't hear each other. But with the LEXIN set- we had no issues at all. Even with the helmet visor up, wind wasn't a issue, the noise canceling -works that good. I've been eying this set for a while, reading reviews to make sure these were going to suit our quadding needs. These are awesome and a must have for any ATVing. Even after a 8hr long ride, it only took 30mins to charge it back to full and at -10 snowy Canadain winter at that. Plus we also realized that we did alot my riding and didn't stop do many times to chat. Also was a great way to communicate any safety issues along the path... which was great on a icy trial. It also has a FM radio and cell phone sync feature that can also stream music. We didn't test this feature but with the clarity of our voices ,I have no doubt that sound quality should be more then acceptable.

This product was fairly easy to install, though the provided clip would not attach and the alternate stick-on clip option was not a perfect match due to a curved edge that did not match my helmet. It turns out that my helmet's speaker pockets don't perfectly matched my ear locations but the Lexin velcro spacers and pads helped to allow me to align them closer to my ears. The unit paired with my phone immediately and sound quality is very good at city speeds. Wind noise from my helmet is drowning out much of the sound so my next task is to isolate the noise sources and try to reduce this (no fault of Lexin's). Phone calls are easy to initiate with my Android and microphone is clear. Overall, I am quite happy with this unit and very impressed at its operation when price is considered.

The Lexin B4FM is reminiscent of another budget bike intercom that I bought a few years back... but in practice, the Lexin ticks boxes the former didn't. The wind noise suppressing microphone was the best surprise here. Receiving a test phone call from my wife, proved clear & background noise free. Even with our open-face helmet's visors open! The only negatives to the call were, the speaker's sound is thin...(as in, no bass!) & could have been a bit louder. In the kit, they've provided 6mm ear speaker spacers, which pads them closer to your ears(if you have the room). This fixes the air gap & helps with sound loss. Even at max volume, the speakers don't distort, but again not the best sound. Also, I'm not a fan of the FM radio & its channel scanning. *** edit! I've sourced the new version ear speakers...update shortly *** The kit includes a clip which attaches the intercom unit to the outside of the helmet. For me, it worked nice & firm. Also really sticky velcro pads, which adhere the mic stem & ear speakers to the helmet's insides, for supposedly easily removal... they've come unstuck pretty quickly... so clean surfaces must be found, for a good permanent assembly. The battery seems too good to be true! I'll have to try a massive ride one day, to prove its longevity, cause we've not seen them go flat yet! All in all, I'm happy with my purchase & my wife/pillion, who totally hates bad sound equipment & was the biggest challenge, has also accepted them. 3.5 Stars - Mostly Recommended.
