Does this enamel paint need a primer?

This is a direct to metal paint and does not require a primer,

can be used on plastic

I have also only used it on metal, its original purpose was to create insulation in the windings of a generator so test it first

What type of brush is best to use with this product?

We used a small acid brush. We were only coating ground screws. Your application may be different. It is an oil base product. Clean up is with mineral spirits.
