Will this work on 2015 silverado with 8" chevy mylink / navigation system?

Yes, works with 2014-2018 Silverado 1500. NOTE: Requires vehicle be equipped with Radio / HMI module combination (RPO Code IO5 & IO6). Vehicles with rear-seat entertainment system and/or one-piece radio systems are not applicable.

Rostra inc. now sells a 250-8456 camera interface. does thus unit replace the 250-8450 and are they both fit the 2018 silverado with the io6?

From what I have read, the 250-8456 has an updated interface for switching between the OEM rear-facing camera and a cargo camera. I can't say for sure that it is a replacement (or even an authentic Rostra product), as it does not seem to be available as a direct purchase and there is no reference to the 250-8456 on their website. I have only seen it available on Ebay.
