Dorman 749-468 Rear Driver Side Power Window Regulator (Regulator Only) Compatible with Select BMW Models (OE FIX)

Extremely happy with this product. Fit perfectly in my 2006 BMW E90 325i, left rear door. While I am not absolutely positive that it had not been replaced previously, I strongly believe it had not due to the untouched condition of the soundproofing in the door and the adhesive goo holding it to the door. On side-by-side comparison with the OEM regulator, I found it to be of equal quality with the added benefit of a fully sheilded operating cable. On a car in good condition, it took under a half hour to get to the broken one, remove it, switch the motor over to the new regulator, install it, and reinstall the door trim. Super easy, requiring no special tools other than a torx bit. You will need to recalibrate the anti-trapping system in the car, but this can be done easily with the right OBD cable and a laptop running software that can be found online for free. I highly, highly recommend this regulator for anyone dealing with a broken one in their own Bimmer.

I needed to replace the window regulator for my 2006 E90 sedan (driver's side rear). I bought this Dorman part from Amazon for $55 because I didn't want to pay two to three times that for OEM. The Dorman part I received didn't quite look like the part pictured on Amazon, but it did look more like the part I took out of my car with minor differences. Replacing the window regulator was pretty easy, but I did struggle a little to release the window from the regulator's clamp (there's a notch in the window where the clamp hooks into). I followed DIY instructions on the internet to replace the regulator and to reset the window's anti-trap function. These are the tools I used to replace the window regulator: - T20 torx driver - 10mm socket wrench - trim removal tool or any flat, rigid, non-scratching tool So far, the regulator works fine with no problems.

Good, easy to replace and was an exact fit. Still a little scary to use and had issues when I was done installing it. Fixed this by disconnecting the battery for a bit and reconnecting it later. Overall it fit and have not had any issues. After reading all the reviews I can expect it to give out soon but I never really use the rear windows. Great price and better than paying some one at least $150 in parts and labor when you can do it yourself for $40.

Two days after I replaced the right rear window regulator the left rear window broke too! See my review for Dorman 749-469. Basically the procedure is the same just on the other side. Once again you must move the window clip on the regulator to the opening slot BEFORE YOU MOUNT THE MOTOR. it took me 2 hours on the rear right window. This time it took me 75 min. Good luck

I ordered a rear left-side window regulator for my 2006 330i BMW and it worked great. The first one I ordered popped within installing and raising the window, but Amazon replaced it with another one and it was great! I appreciated the prompt exchange by Amazon.

I want to address the things that went through my mind prior to purchasing this after-market window regulator. 1. It fits PERFECTLY. 2. It appears well made and has a modified design from the OEM BMW regulator that fails repeatedly. 3. Packaged properly 4. Upon re-mounting the window motor, you must utilize the 3 fasteners included in the Dorman kit (easy to do). 5. Will it last? My logic is that if it only lasts as long as the OEM BMW unit, l'm ahead, because this one is less than half the price of the OEM unit. But I am hopefully optimistic, as this unit appears stronger where it counts. Time will tell of course. So far, so good.

I've replaced a few window regulators already in my 06 E90 so I know what I'm doing. Never used a Dorman regulator before so I thought I'd try them out as it looked like a quality product. Installation was easy (as usual) but when I went to initialize the window I had the same issues as others have mentioned. When the window goes all the way down it tries to go back up but the anti-trap kicks in and rolls the window back down. I was able to reset the window so I can get it to go up and down, but without the one-touch auto feature. I'm also getting an anti-trap warning every time I start the car. It's a rear window so it's not worth it to me to try to replace the regulator (or the motor) so I'll just live with it. But my suggestion is to try a different regulator from URO or something similar.

I don’t know who the founder of Dorman is but I hope he is a billionaire. Let me explain why. I have been a professional mechanic for 39 years holding a Master ASE certification in both Automotive and Heavy Truck. As every mechanic can relate, there are replacement parts for just about every category with a certain manufacturer for each of those categories. If you need steering parts you swear by brand X. If you need electronic parts you trust brand Y. If you need engine parts you always but brand Z. You get the idea. Then there are those obscure parts that don’t fit into any category. It’s usually something small that broke and now you must buy some big assembly from the manufacturer just to get that little part. That is the market that Dorman saw a need for, and filled it! They are a life saver when it comes to the weird parts that don’t fit into any category. And they have an extensive catalog that covers just about everything from gas pedal to tailgate hinges. Okay, so a window regulator may not be an obscure part. However, the only other option was the OEM replacement for almost $300. Dorman had this replacement for less than $100. And it fit just as good as OEM. I can’t thank these guys enough. Again, I hope the founder is a billionaire

Replaced rear driver side within days of replacing rear passenger side. Product appears to be a great replacement for the failure-prone OE part.

I purchased and installed this. It would work about 50 % of the time. Sometimes for no reason it won't go back up. 3 mos later my 8 yr old son closed the door and I heard a breaking sound from inside the door. It was the plastic window regulator. Now the window is stuck down in a rain storm. Not happy with this product. The other window regulators are original and are 12 years old now and working fine.
