What does the side view of this part look like? The photo only shows the trim piece and not the part that goes up into the housing

It is all one piece. The trim and the insert. Our house was built in 1999 and it replaced the baffle's perfectly.

Can the baffle be removed? I'm trying to match existing cans which have open holes not covered by baffles.

There are 2 models 1 is plastic but most are aluminum (metal) depend from who you buy - you should ask him prior
