Casio fx-CG100 Colour Graphing Calculator (UK Version) - Upgrade from previous fx-CG50 model

When my daughter first came to me one she needed a new calculator for her maths a levels I didn’t think anything of it until I realised that standard scientific calculator Wasn’t sufficient and she needed a graphing one as well. After o got over the shock of the price i decided to purchase this Casio one as I always find you can’t go wrong with Casio and also found out that this is approved for use in a level exams . I haven’t used it but my daughter has and she says it does what she needs it to do.

Brilliant piece of machinery I’m getting 3 a stars so I’d say it’s done its job fairly well

I bought this mainly because it offers financial functions as well as many others (sometimes hard to find). It has proved very useful already. I like the way I can save solver equations for later use (only one equation can be loaded at a time) and connect the calculator to my computer for backup purposes. This calculator is very powerful but be prepared to consult the manual for best results.

Very good

This calculator is well built and the buttons feel responsive. The screen is a nice size, but it scratches easily and you would be best to find a screen protector. It takes 5 button pushes to, for example, change from degrees to radians, which is a pain, as older Casio calculators had a mode button and took two button pushes.

Great functions and capabilities allied to an outstanding display. Uses the same ClassWiz interface as the Casio non-graphics calculators, so very familiar to most kids/ students. Also has ‘Exam Mode’ function for use in A-Levels etc.

The calculator arrived with lot of scratches on the screen its like it was been used before.

Ich habe den Casio fx-CG100 mit dem HP50g hinsichtlich einiger Funktionen verglichen. Sehr schön ist die graphische Darstellung (siehe Bilder). Für die Funktionen wird die Ableitungsfunktion allerdings nicht angezeigt. Es werden nur ein paar Werte tabellarisch angezeigt. Der HP50g zeigt die berechnete Ableitungsfunktion (erste und zweite) an. Beim HP50g kann ich Verzeichnisse anlegen, lokale und globale Variablen sehr flexibel selber definieren. Beim Casio ist die Anzahl der Variablen (Alpha, Function, Vector, Matrix, List) vordefiniert. Im Catalog sind die mathematischen Themen wie " Function Analysis". Auch dort wird der Wert angezeigt, aber nicht die Funktuon. Beide Rechner können so viel, so dass ich noch nicht alles ausprobiert habe. Der Casio ist ein guter Rechner, der auch viele Variavlen wie zum Bsp. die Lichtgeschwindigkeot, Masse Proton, Elektron u.s.w. drin hat und das Periodensystem mit Erklärung (Hilfe). Das fand ich gut. Beim HP50g muss man diese Variablen erst eintippen. Programme können bei beiden Rechnern geschrieben werden. Beim Casio in Python, dass mit Python unter Linux nicht viel gemeinsam hat. Beim HP50g geht dss kurz und knackig. Der ist sehr effektiv. Ich werde beide Rechner nutzen, um meine Berechnungen vom Studium (Mathe, Thermodynamik, Wärmeübertragung, Klimatechnik, Mechanik u.s.w) und weitere Vergleiche anstellen. Ich hatte einfach Spass daran, knackig Aufgaben von vor langer Zeit wieder zu lösen.
