Very simple to use and ready to go right out of the box. I have an Android phone, and it does exactly what I needed. As for the free-tilt mode, I don’t really use it — since the phone is positioned sideways, it’s hard to hold it with one hand for a long time. Occasionally, the gimbal loses balance slightly, so I have to tilt my hand to keep the footage straight while recording. For the barrel roll feature, I wish it could do a full 360°, but it only goes up to 180°. You can rotate your hand to try to go beyond that, but it’s very difficult. Also, the gimbal doesn't charge the phone using the included cable. The light module works really well, and the 360 app gives you lots of creative options. I got the white gimbal, and after just two uses, the handle and other parts are already looking dirty. That was a bit disappointing. Overall, I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

It’s bulky, makes the gimbal pocket out uncomfortably, and worse, my phone would often not stay properly balanced with it attached, forcing me to constantly re-adjust. I decided to stop using the gimbal for a while until I purchased the dedicated Insta360 Flow 2 Pro/Flow 2 Magnetic Phone Mount, hoping this would solve the portability and quick-mount issues. It certainly made carrying easier. The Critical Flaw (1/5): Unfortunately, the ease of carrying didn't fix the fundamental balancing problem, especially when using a larger device. I use the iPhone 16 Pro Max with a Shift Lens clear case. I consistently find that the motors do not keep the phone balanced. This issue persists even when I take the time to mount it without the protective case. The MagSafe attachment is less than perfect and barely improves stability. Forcing me to use the phone without a case provides an added risk just to try and get basic functionality. I end up having to calibrate the gimbal after just a few minutes of usage. This completely defeats the purpose of a quick-access, ready-to-shoot device. Instead of focusing on the shot, I’m constantly waiting for the app to recalibrate the axis drift. Final Verdict: Because of this persistent flaw, I have not used the Flow 2 Pro nearly as often as I intended. I suspect my unit might be defective, but I missed the return window and am now stuck with a beautiful but flawed piece of equipment. Is anyone else experiencing this significant calibration or balancing issue? It's frustrating to be sitting on an item with such potential that is currently unusable for reliable filming.

UPDATE: The seller was so gracious, refunded me for the trouble and also sent me a new Insta 360 Flow 2. I am most grateful they VOLUNTEERED to do this. Now I am enjoying this little gimbal so much! original review below, I clearly got a lemon, but they fixed it. All I did was gently extend the selfie stick… and boom, it freaked out like a caffeinated flamingo with a spinal injury. The camera started spinning, twitching, and NEVER rebalanced itself again. That’s right — it never once stabilized properly, never worked as advertised, and never recovered. Reboots? Resets? Firmware check? Standing on one leg and chanting to the tech gods? Tried it all. Nothing helped. It’s bulky, touchy, temperamental, and feels like it was designed to test your patience more than anything else. For something marketed as "professional," this was an embarrassing display of incompetence — by the hardware AND the company that released it. If I wanted to watch something collapse under pressure without explanation, I’d revisit my last relationship — not pay hundreds for a supposed “smart” camera that breaks its neck on day one. Returning it and going back to fire, rocks, and common sense. Avoid this disaster-in-a-box unless you enjoy rage.

Item was delivered to wrong address, never received from Amazon, but I did pick one up and wow it’s a huge upgrade coming from the DJI osmo mobile 3 to the pro 2 amazing. The features are incredible tracking is the best there is , it will follow is an infinite 360 circle if needed . I did compare to the latest offerings and this seemed by far the best , sub 150 gimbal for mobile phones…

TL:DR - If you want a connected gimbal for your iPhone to do iPhotography / iVideography on the fly, this is the one to get. If you want a one that is less app dependent / can function with an action camera, you might want to skip this. The Insta360 Flow 2 Pro is our first gimbal and we used it during our summer trip to Oahu. The folded down size is perfect to fit inside our daily sling bag for carrying around town. I like the different options of using a MagSafe connector vs a traditional clamp to mount the phone / camera. My wife did manage to break the clamp mount and we had to spent an additional 25 bucks for a replacement. It has a built in tripod and selfie stick for different application. This tiny gimbal did everything that it was supposed to do. We were able to get some pretty stable hiking and beach footages. The connection to the Insta360 App is easy and it allows for seamless control of the gimbal. If you have an iPhone, you would also like the native integration to the Camera app as well as the Apple Dock Kit for other app integration. The AI subject tracking worked pretty well in full light and low light conditions both using the iPhone and the additional AI tracker. With all that said, it comes with its own downside with all these app integration. Because of the simplicity of the controls on the gimbal, it relies on the synchronization of your phone and your gimbal to carry out a lot of the function. If you had to use an action camera instead of your phone, then the operation becomes much less intuitive. That is why I docked a star from the review.
