Xbox One X 1TB Console - Fallout 76 Bundle (Discontinued)

So i bought this as an acceptable Amazon Warehouse deal for $300. To my surprise the box only had been smushed in a few places and the console had probably only been tested but had all original packaging. It was new. No marks or anything. It was a good deal. So the console itself is very good. I sold my old xbox one in 2014. It was big, loud, and lacking power. I mostly play on a highend pc, own a ps4, switch, and most of the consoles from nearly every generation. This machine is the first console to impress me since the 360. For the money i can not build you a pc like this. No checkerboarding. Just 4k goodness. It being the same price as the Pro or cheaper makes the X a clear winner. Why? Better framerates. The main reason i play on pc and most important is a stable framerate. 60fps all the time. So the X does 30. But it is almost always 30, unlike the ps4, or base xbone and more so than the ps4 pro. Native 4k. Upscaling for consoles are buzz words. Your TV does the upscaling of any non native image. So a 480p DVD will only look as good as your TV is capable of. You are at the mercy of your TVs upscaling. So perfect pixel per pixel is always the best option. 4k bluray. It is a nice plus. Backwards compatibility and 4k enhancement. This is big since RDR never got a pc release. It is great anyway since the old 360 failure rates are just a matter of time, and the games look so much better at 2160p oppose to 720p or less. And even though games like Oblivion can be modded to look like a 2019 remaster. Fallout 3 does not run well on Windows 10. It was never stable anyway, but it crashes a lot. My only issue is outside of a more stable fps and resolution no other effort are being made on these games. Oblivion for instance run at 30 fps and medium pc settings since this is literally an emulated version. So they can never change anything but resolution and post processing things. Game Pass. This is the Netflix for video games. As a pc player I am concerned it would kill modding on that platform. You dont own the product and there for have no right to it. But on a console this is huge and a fantasic service. You can try what you want, and the games are fairly recent to classics. It is also better than what PS offers currently. Build quality. This is the best built xbox ever. No external power brick, smaller than the PS4, and quieter than my overclocked pc which is much quieter than my ps4. Only the switch is less noisy. Its impressive to say the least and a huge turn around from the noisy VCR they released in 2013. Only downside is the DVD drive reads a little slower than the ps4. All told if you are inbetween this and the Pro I would strongly recommend the xboex. The exclusive ps4 games are all over rated. Horizon is basically a post apocalyptic AC game with much worse combat, God of War was one of the most archaic playing games i have played. It is Tomb Raider with a better story, and my favorite one is Spiderman but even then. The multiplats are better one the one x. Forza Horizon is a fun series. And RDR2 plays @4k and holds the best framerate. So if you're like me and care about stable frames above all else this is your console.

Xbox One X 1TB Console - Fallout 76 Bundle - I like the console, the game is good for hanging out with friends and it was a good deal for me because I was about to pay full price but saw this on sale. My previous system was a One S with 500 GB HDD & 3 GB External HDD that died after about 1 year. The 1 TB HDD on this X is a good size, as I commented on another's review, but I will admit that for a flagship system it really should be 3 to 5 Gig. It would also be nice if MS could manage a wireless headset the way Sony did with the PS3 a couple of decades ago. The controller that comes with the S and X is low quality - I am using a higher priced one I already had for my S. A flagship should be more than the standard system and that's all there is to it whether it needs it or not. A very basic core philosophy that MS should've gotten right but didn't. I have not had this long enough to even try a performance comparison with the S but I think they are very similar for most existing games and with up-sampling 4K TV sets, you probably won't notice much difference in the graphics even when its in true 4K. I have to say, I couldn't tell you if I was on my old S or this X from using it so far - everything is the same. But I have only Fallout 76 for new games so far so I can't really say this will continue to be the case. Fallout 76 is a good game that lets you drop in and out of friends games. Its not super exciting but you can just sorta hang out or play missions and such so its enjoyable so far. Its a Bethesda game so you can expect really nice visuals & game world, some would say incredible, and really horrible programming & oodles of bugs, glitches and digital demons when it comes to the actual game play. As a general xbox S and X thing, the music player and video player software is horribly inadequate and there is nothing better available to download that I could see. The fact that the systems don't even come with the player software installed is, to me, unbelievable. This is horrible and inexcusable for an entertainment system. This takes a star off. That's being generous. You might think that because I'm a little down on the whole lack of corporate desire for flagship product excellence and the very poor quality engineering & functionality of peripherals, that I'd rate this pretty low but that's not the case. I like the core functionality of the system and overall I'm very happy with my entertainment experience and this purchase so far. The online functionality and game library, while still a bit limited for X enhanced games, is excellent if you like fps, sports, rpg, racing and horror games. I do. So I still think its the best system for what I want, I just see missed opportunities for a much better system. My experience and value so far, including the sale price and laying aside my peripheral deficiency disappointment, is 5 stars for gaming and 3 stars for entertainment.

I upgraded from the original Xbone (is that still a thing?) on a whim this month, I was still happy with the original, but with games like RDR2 coming out it was starting to feel sluggish, muddy, so I figured it was time. I’m glad I did, even though I’m still just on a full HD screen, not a 4k HDR fancy pants display, the difference in the graphics is substantial enough that it warranted an audible “WOW” from me. Everything (that has a 4k update) is crisper, clearer, sharper, any -er you can think of, it probably is that. The dangerous thing now is how badly I want to spend even more money to get a 4k tv just to see how much more this half-generation console can blow my mind...but no, I musn’t, I can’t...I...can I? Anyway, it’s amazing, I love it, and it’s so tiny compared to the brick house that was the original Xbox One. Side note - I was a Sony fanboy before this current generation of consoles came out, but Microsoft won me over this time with great customer service, a system that feels solid and stable, a controller that doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart in my hands, and unparalleled backward compatibility (seriously, Sony, why?). As for Fallout 76, which comes with this bundle? I’m a HUGE Fallout fan, been playing since the isometric RPG days so I’m already biased by a large margin, probably don’t listen to me. But, if you must, I like it, maybe not as much as previous games, but it’s a unique experience. With exception to Mr. Handy’s, there really are no friendly NPC’s at all, all the lore and story are experienced through prerecorded audio and text, which Fallout is no stranger to both of these, it just feels weird that those two things are all there is. I will say this, however, it makes sense given the context of the story, everyone’s dead, save for the residents of Vault 76, plain and simple. It’s a huge and beautiful map, full of things to discover, but the no NPC’s thing largely makes it feel so empty, especially for solo players. It’s my hope that they find ways in the future of this game to make it feel more full for loners like myself. Overall, I am beyond satisfied with my purchase, over the moon, if you will. Now I just have to convince myself this is enough for now, I don’t need a 4k tv, I don’t need a 4k tv, I don’...hey, how’d that get in my cart?!

I upgraded to the Xbox One X from the original Xbox One for a few different reasons: First, I always wanted to mount my Xbox One on the wall, and it's harder to do with the original Xbox One's because of potential overheating and the annoying bulky power pack. The Xbox One X has plenty of wonderful mounting options (I personally went with the HIDEit X1X Mount) and there's no bulky power pack. I was originally worried about overheating, but I have used it for hours in the mount and have checked the heat and it doesn't seem to run any more or less hot than when it was sitting on top of my dresser. Second, I'm an avid Alexa user and I wanted the capability to control the Xbox One using voice commands so I could disconnect the useless Kinect and not have to deal with buggy Cortana. Alexa has now come to the original Xbox One, but with some limitations whereas the Xbox One X gives really great control of the system and apps using Alexa. I'm really happy with the integration and it seems overall less buggy than Cortana was at times. Third, I have been paying for high speed internet for quite a while, but my load times on the original Xbox One lagged behind friends with the Xbox One S and Xbox One X. I could have just upgraded to the S, but hell... why not go with the best available at the time? Now I find that load speeds are faster than I experienced before and I have been really happy with the online performance. So... is it worth it? For what I was looking for, yes. It was worth the upgrade. I got everything I wanted out of the system; but if you are looking to upgrade with the expectation that game-play will be significantly different, then you need to consider a few things in advance. For example, if you don't have the infrastructure that takes full advantage of the Xbox One X's capabilities, I wouldn't bother upgrading. There's a lot of cascading costs that would be involved if you don't have the infrastructure. For example, upgrading to a faster internet is going to require a better modem to get the best speeds. If you are playing on wireless internet, then you will also probably need to upgrade your router. If you want the best graphics from the Xbox One X, your TV may be too old, etc. These are all important things that you should consider before you decide to upgrade because otherwise, it's not worth it if you can't get the best from the system.

I really like my Xbox, the graphics are excellent, which is why I upgraded in the first place. I suppose that it's also quite sleek and looks nice on the shelf, but I can't fathom buying a game console for the console's aesthetics. I haven't played a system with better render rates than the X. That being said, it has a harder time maintaining a connection to the router than any previous Xbox that I've had. About once every couple of weeks it needs to be reset completely, which is a bit irritating. It's on the other side of an uninsulated wall but is otherwise 8 unobstructed feet away from the router. I would say that I regret buying this console due to how dissatisfying Fallout 76 is, but I went into it knowing that the game was absolute garbage. I'll defend Bethesda to the hilt about games like Skyrim, but releasing 76 in the state that it was isn't far from deceitful business practice; all of the bugs, poor plot execution, and the almost incomprehensible extent of micro transactions and their near necessity for play are unacceptable. I'll be exceedingly skeptical of new Bethesda releases in the future and will not preorder anything from them (not that it's ever worth it).

I should have been more skeptical when buying from this seller for a few reasons. First, they were the best price on the market for a new One X when I purchased just over a year ago (June 2019). I figured it made sense since it came with a game most people gave poor reviews. So I purchased it, and when it arrived I noticed the original clear packaging stickers had been cut and new stickers were placed over the cut stickers - this made me wonder if this unit was actually a refurb or open-box return. However the console seemed to be in great physical condition and booted with no issues. Shortly after beginning to use the unit I noticed issues with the controller - primarily connectivity issues that I had never had with other store-bought Microsoft controllers. More specifically issues with connection cutting out/stuttering and headset audio being choppy. I emailed the company to ask if they sent me a refurbished unit or controller, and they offered me a partial refund of the purchase with no questions asked and no explanation provided, and did not offer to replace the unit. If it wasn't such a pain to return opened electronics past the return window I might have returned it and purchased somewhere more reputable. Now I'm wishing I would have. I've owned the console for less than a year and a half, and now that I am barely five months out of warranty the console has gotten Black Screen of Death. The console will boot and my TV recognizes this by powering on, I can even hear the Xbox menu audio coming through my TV, however the screen remains black. I have attempted a hard reset, checked the hardware, switched my HDMI cable, and nothing works. Everything I'm reading points to this being an issue with the HDMI chip in the console. Microsoft won't do anything since I bought from a Amazon third party seller and the unit would be out of warranty. Use caution when a "new" console deal seems too good to be true, and if you have any suspicions upon receiving the product I would return it for a refund and buy somewhere more reputable. I have no way of knowing for sure, but I feel like I got stuck with a refurbished unit that is now effectively bricked and I have no recourse unless the seller reaches out, in which case I will update this review. Update: Turns out this was a software issue widely affecting smart TV's and has since been fixed via a software update. I have updated the review from 1 star to 5 stars since everything is in working order as intended.

I have been an Xbox user for a long time. This Xbox is the first to come anywhere near PC performance. I am a PC enthusiast. I purchased this item because my Xbox One was purchased about five years ago and I wanted an upgrade. In terms of UI, there are several improvements that could be made. Nintendo has the right idea about console UI. Navigating the Xbox One X is like peeling an onion. I don't really want to do it or have the desire to do it. If I wanted a difficult user experience, I would just install Windows Vista on my PC instead. The power of this console is nice and all, but the navigation thing really annoys me. I could intuitively navigate the Nintendo Switch as soon as I picked it up. The Xbox One X operating system seems to be similar to Windows 10 in terms of overall ease of use. That is not a good thing. Windows 10 has two entirely different sets of menus. One set was pretty much entirely migrated from Windows 8. The other was shoehorned into Windows 10 for some reason. The Xbox One X is a nice looking box. Not enough RGB. With some UX improvements, the overall package would be pretty good. Kills me to do this, but I have to give it 3/5.

Xbox One X is amazing! Get it! Fallout 76 though is like they took a game engine developed in 2001, built a good/great game on it, then took out all the parts of the game that made it any good and delivered it in Fallout 76. It is a huge waste of money, even after it makes it to the $5 clearance bin at Marshalls.

Ordered a Fallout 76 edition xbox x and received just a plain xbox x. Called Amazon and they gave me a $45.00 rebate on the consul (value of the game). The xbox x has better graphics even on 1080 p tv's. Loading times are faster and the change over from my xbox one to the xbox x was painless. Satisfied with the purchase.

I bought this Xbox in late April, and it has already stopped working. After talking to Xbox help line I also noticed that the warranty and all extras that are supposed to come with the Xbox have expired in 2019, They told me to contact the seller and demand a replacement. Never have I been so disappointed in an amazon purchase.

Was really satisfied despite being worried about buying used from the site. Everything was packaged like new - foam, wrapping, tape batteries - and even the promo codes included worked. My one problem is that the controller shipped with it has a slight drift problem to the right. At first I only noticed it on menu screens and touching the stick would return it to normal - unfortunately it hasn't got any better, in fact more noticeable in gameplay. As I have to buy a new controller, the money I saved buying used is just going right back into the product. I could have got it new with a warrantee for that price. I was originally going to give 4 stars but with firther investment, this feels more like an even trade than a deal. There are no problems with the system whatsoever

I’m only taking 1 star off because of shipping issues with both Amazon and courier. I wasn’t happy with the way it was shipped. No Amazon box resulted in slight tear in packaging and it was delivered to the wrong address thanks to Purolator... but the Xbox one X is a great upgrade. 4K at 60fps (50-55 is clocked speed) or 1080@120fps... so smooth! The 4K blu-ray player is very good as well. Just make sure you have a good 4K TV so you can make use of the insane power of this beast! One other thing to note is that the 4K Blu-Ray player sometimes has issues with HDCP rights management errors. I encountered this when trying to use a Yamaha sound bar. Everything else worked, just not the 4K Blu-Ray discs I tried. So make sure you do very in-depth research if you are buying this and trying to run it through any 4K pass-through audio system.

My fiance and I use the system every day, from watching Netflix to playing video games. I have not had an issue, and it is a quality entertainment system. I am not able to say how the 4k is because I do not have a TV with 4k capabilities, but the quality is excellent. They have just announced the new Xbox systems, but since this system was made so well, I will not need to purchase another system for a long time.
