⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Dash Cam – Easy Installation with the Hardwire Kit!
I recently finished installing a Vantrue N5S 4-channel dash cam in my 2026 Ford Bronco Badlands Sasquatch, and so far I’m really impressed.I couldn’t be happier with this dash cam. The video quality is outstanding both during the day and at night, and having multiple camera angles provides excellent coverage and peace of mind while driving. What impressed me the most was how easy the installation was. I paired it with the optional hardwire kit, and the setup was straightforward. Once installed, everything looked clean and professional with no cables hanging around. The hardwire kit also enables parking mode, which was one of the main reasons I chose this setup. The app is easy to use, the voice commands are convenient, and the camera starts recording automatically every time I drive. Overall, this is an outstanding dash cam that delivers excellent performance and great value. If you’re looking for a reliable dash cam that’s easy to install—especially with the hardwire kit—I highly recommend it.

Added security
I saw this and decided to give it a try!Have been using it for few weeks. I can say that I am very pleased with the quality. Not only in the product but also in the quality in the images, video, and audio.Installation was simple. My own mistake and didn’t use the cable that came with it. Had the used past equipment that didn’t support 4 channels, only 3. For those who have previous equipment already, the equipment that came with the cam will need to be utilized. Specifically the long cable that links the front and rear cameras.A simple switched of the cables everything works without a problem. The app is great! Very user friendly. But if you use a VPN that will need to be turned off during use. With the app you can: view all data collected, can view save crop the first 30 sec. And so on or save to your device and do anything. One note with the 4 channels it is more data and will use space on the as card. So if there is an event you’d like to capture, get on the app sooner than later, other wise it will get recorded over.I haven't quite figured out the pix Plate feature yet but i have faith it will do just fine. In my area this time of year, there is a fair amount of my driving is early in the morning or evening. I have to say the quality of images, video is great. I'm no videographer but for the purposes of this device ( extra insurance, if you will) is a great tool.So many settings, do your research, reading and set it up how you like. I have mine in collision mode, which will turn off after about 5 minutes and detect collision, you can have it set on motion but in what I found will stay on Depending on the sensitivity you set it to. Also on this note I have found that depending on the sensitivity it will record anything that stimulates the sensor. For example, hitting a pot hole use of your horn or simply getting into your vehicle. Not all that often but if you are to slam doors could trip the sensor. Not sure if there is a way to mitigate that. But for the intended purpose of this unit I don’t find this minor difficulty a big problem. All the hardware works great! you must use the electrostatic stickers to install the camera mounts. otherwise if you don't and say you have to replace your windshield will be a bit harder to remove. I say this as I didn't on my last one and had to use a razor blade to remove. Also if you are installing the rear camera on a back window with a rear defroster cut down the electrostatic sticker.Hope this helps. I will update in time with any other areas i may have missed as i have only had it in use for a few weeks.I could go on, but if you’ve been want to, give it a try!The customer support is good. A slight delay as they are but will respond as stated on their website/app.

Great quality dashcam
InstallationInstalling the Vantrue N5S went pretty quickly. As I was upgrading from the N4 I did not need to rerun the power cable. The rear camera cable however, is not interchangeable between the two models. The design of the cameras and mounting components are pretty low profile making it easy to place the cameras discreetly. This is especially important to me as I like a neat installation that maintains a factory-like appearance. The adhesive mounts hold securely, and the included wiring accessories made installation straightforward. For power I use the Vantrue ODB2 hardwire kit for convenience.Video QualityThe video quality lives up to what I've come to expect from Vantrue. With the N5S multiple capturing the front, interior, and rear views, I was impressed by how consistent and clear the footage remained across different driving environments. Even during periods of vibration, rough pavement, or highway acceleration, the N5S produced stable footage with readable street signs and license plates at reasonable distances. It also performs well during night time and low light driving conditions. One important consideration is that with 4 channels being recorded the camera does require a high speed SD card rated at U3/A2 or better. I initially used a slower card and would get a warning on the camera screen about slow card speeds.InterfaceThe system’s WiFi connection allows for quick access to video files through the Vantrue app. This is an improvement over the N4, which did not have WiFi. Being able to pull clips directly to my phone without removing the SD card is a major convenience. The app itself functions adequately and provides a convenient option for managing camera settings vs navigating the settings menus directly on the camera.OverallThe Vantrue N5s is a great choice for anyone who wants a dependable multi camera dashcam capable of capturing high quality footage from several angles. When paired with a high speed SD card, it performs reliably for documenting traffic incidents or simply recording scenic rides and daily drives. The combination of solid video quality, discreet hardware, and wireless file transfer makes it a system I would confidently purchase again.

Wont turn on. Pins are missing
I was really excited about this, but when I got it and installed it after about an hour or so. I tried to turn it on and nothing was powering on. So then I noticed on the attachment to the window. Some of the pins were missing. I found out that the pins broke off inside the camera itself somehow. I tried to connect power directly, and it still wouldn't turn on. So the install was a complete waste of time.I would be careful with this, it almost seems like the quality of the connecting pins is not that good. So if you take it on and off your windshield to another car, eventually they might break. My unit had this from opening the box. So I can't comment on the quality because I could never get it to turn on.

A Subtle, High-Coverage Dash Cam That Just Works.... Now With 360° Playback
I wasn’t sure if I needed a full-on 4-camera system but the N5S has really changed my mind. Installation was… easy enough. It took maybe 25–30 minutes total: mount the front camera on the windshield, run the back-camera cable to the rear glass, plug into power (or better yet, hard-wire if you go that route), and tuck the wiring neatly along the trim.Once installed, the camera powers on with the car ignition ... no fuss, no button-pushing. And once you drive, the system records all around you. The N5S isn’t just “front & back.” You get full 360° coverage: front exterior, rear exterior, and two interior views (front-cabin and rear-cabin).Video quality is excellent for what it is. The front lens records in up to 2592 × 1944 (2.7 K) @ 30 fps, and the other cameras record 1440p-to-1080p @ 30 fps. The use of Sony Starvis 2 sensors across all four cameras means even interior shots ... important if you’re carrying passengers, kids, or pets... come out clearly, and night / low-light performance is solid thanks to IR night vision + HDR/WDR support.Accessing footage is straightforward. The system includes Wi-Fi (5 GHz), GPS metadata, voice control, and supports up to 1 TB microSD. You can transfer files via the companion app, or plug the card directly into your computer. Playback and review are intuitive... date/time and speed are stamped automatically, which helps if you ever need footage for an insurance claim or incident.Parking mode (motion detection or impact-triggered) is an especially welcome feature if you park on the street or in busy lots overnight though full parking-surveillance requires the optional hardwire kit. What I Like Most:Very complete coverage — exterior + interior + front + rear. Great for everyday driving and rideshares / family use.Superb low-light performance thanks to Starvis 2 + IR + HDR/WDR. Nighttime license plates, pedestrians, interior detail — all reasonably visible.Built-in GPS, voice control, automatic “on with ignition” recording, and good app integration make it “set and forget.”Small Quirks / What to Know:It’s a more substantial setup than a simple single-lens cam... routing the rear cable and mounting two units takes more effort than plugging in a basic front dash cam.The box doesn’t include a microSD card or the hardwire kit ... you’ll want to purchase a 512 GB–1 TB card separately. I happen to have one from previous. If you rely on the parking mode, you really should hardwire it; otherwise parking surveillance won’t happen. With 4 cameras constantly recording, storage fills up — so a large card is pretty much mandatory if you don’t frequently offload footage.Bottom Line: If you want more than “just the road ahead,” and you value full-car coverage... inside and out... the Vantrue N5S is a worthy upgrade over a basic dash cam. For everyday driving, rideshare, or safeguarding a car that sees lots of action, this camera system feels like it was built for someone who wants complete peace of mind.

Vantrue N5S 4-Channel: Great 2.7K Video, but Wi-Fi and Camera Defects Kill the 5-Star Score
We purchased the Vantrue N5S to replace our failed Vantrue N4 Pro, installing it in a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited using the existing hardwire solution. While the image quality and 360-degree coverage are exceptional, two critical issues prevent a perfect score: a non-functional rear cabin camera and frustratingly unreliable 5GHz Wi-Fi.Installation & Core Performance (5/5)Easy Upgrade: For those moving from an N4-series camera, the physical install is almost an instant swap. The ability to utilize the existing hardwire kit for 24/7 parking mode is a huge advantage and a testament to Vantrue's consistent harness design.Video Quality (Front/Cabin/Rear): The video quality is truly the standout feature. The N5S leverages STARVIS 2 sensors and offers superior resolution (Front: 2.7K, Rear: 1440P) that captures clear license plates and road details both day and night. It delivers reliable, high-definition evidence, which is the most important function of any dash cam.Physical Presence: My daughter (the primary driver) is shorter and noted that the main unit is unobtrusive behind the rearview mirror, though taller drivers might need to adjust their mounting position. The camera itself remains firmly secured, requiring only a minor re-tucking of cables once during the week.Startup & Operation: The camera powers on instantly, though it experiences a brief minute of "lag" before running smoothly. We appreciate the ability to turn off the display completely to eliminate distractions while driving. The Critical Flaws (2/5 for Reliability & Connectivity)Despite the great video quality, two major issues marred the user experience:Faulty Rear Cabin Camera: The interior-facing camera on the rear unit is completely non-functional. We attempted troubleshooting steps, including hard reboots and a firmware update, but the issue persists. This is a significant reliability failure, especially as the camera was bought specifically for its four channels of coverage.Unreliable 5GHz Wi-Fi: The high-speed 5GHz Wi-Fi connection, designed for fast file transfers, is incredibly frustrating. Connection attempts fail repeatedly on both a Pixel 10 Pro XL (Android) and an iPhone 17 Pro (iOS). When a connection is finally established, it often disconnects immediately. This makes quickly reviewing or downloading a single emergency file nearly impossible without removing the micro SD card. We were very surprised by this given how flawlessly my Vantrue S1 Pro connects.Ease of Use & MenusThe menu system is extremely detailed and offers a massive level of granularity for every setting (recording length, sensitivity, time format, etc.). While this is great for advanced users, the sheer volume of options can be overwhelming for a novice driver. We recommend new users leave most settings at the factory default.VerdictThe Vantrue N5S is a powerhouse of a dash cam, offering market-leading video quality and comprehensive four-channel protection backed by a reliable supercapacitor power system. It is a fantastic replacement for the N4 Pro in terms of video fidelity. However, we cannot ignore the major quality control and connectivity issues. Until Vantrue resolves the highly unreliable 5GHz Wi-Fi connection and the non-functional secondary camera channel (which appears to be a hardware defect), it is a system with outstanding potential but disappointing technical execution.Recommendation: If maximum video quality is your absolute top priority and you are comfortable troubleshooting or dealing with unreliable Wi-Fi, this camera is worth it. If ease-of-use and reliable app connectivity are essential for you, you may want to look at other Vantrue models (like the S1 Pro) that offer a more seamless app experience.

Excellent dashcam (N5S) providing 4 views of coverage that is easy to use
The Vantrue N5S is an excellent dash cam that provides 4 points of coverage: 1) in front of the car, 2) behind the car, 3) view of interior from the front windshield, and 4) view of the interior from the rear window. This is definitely a must for people looking for that added level of security for their car or for the added evidence for insurance purposes. I am glad I got this for my car for the ease of use, easily able to access the media and save to your phone or device and the added security of having 4 points of view.Contents: It includes all the necessary items for installing the dash cam.- Front and rear cameras with an extra mounting sticker- Cables to connect the cameras- Charging cable that connects to the cigarette lighter outlet and a short USB-A to USB-C cable- Window films that are used to sitck on your car windows and them affix the camera to them. This helps to easily remove or even adjust placement of the cameras. (plus microfiber cloth and alcohol wipes)- 6 cable clips to help with cable management on the window (if needed)- Small plastic pry bar to help remove panels. I found this helpful, but I have a larger one that i found is more effective.Set up: It may seem challenging, but it is relatively easy. I installed this on a Kia EV6 in which I wired the cables through the trunk panel and hidden within the ceiling liner. You will need the pry bar to hep with this. Alternatively you can use the cable clips to hold the cable on the windows and then hide the cable along the top or bottom of the door frames. Warning, be careful if you snake the cable on top of the door frame to not get in the way of the air bags. It is safer to snake along the bottom of the door frame, but takes more effort. In all I had over 2 feet of excess cable, so it is definitely long enough for probably any car/SUV. Their is a picture desciption for correctly attaching the rear camera to the window.Using the dashcam: First off, you will need to use a SD micro card that has at least the recommended V3 rating. I had an older V1 card and kept getting "slow card" message on the dash cam. Once I put in a V3 card, no more errors.- The dash cam is great and records excellent quality videos and photos in both day and night. Both outside and inside videos look great.- Locking videos - simply puch the orage button on the left side of the dascam.- Sensitivity/locking videos - I find the dashcam a bit sensitivty in its attempt to sense the car is in an accident. It triggers whether I hit a pot hole or bump in the road. But there does not appear to be any consistency for when this happens. While it is better to be safe than sorry (any lose the video if it gets recorded over), you will end up having a lot of locked down media that I would suggest you will need to delete periodically. I have no doubt that if ever I'm in an accident (knock on wood) that the dashcam will lock that video down.- Changing views on monitor are easily cycled by pushing the left button on the bottom of the dashcam.Vantrue app: The app really helps simplify your experience with the dashcam. The app connects to the camera via wifi and enables you to view any camera view live. It also allows you to download any videos or snapsots to your device. This is so much better than having to pull out your SD card and put into your computer to download media.

Vantrue Cameras Keep Getting Better & Better!
I have owned plenty of the Vantrue dash cam models & it's not because the others have gone bad. These cameras are built to last & if by chance there's a problem, the company stands behind their product. The Vantrue N5S 4 channel camera gives you a 360 view by providing 4 angles of your vehicle. You get front & rear, inside front as well as rear cabin view. The auto feature changes the images to grey scale as needed for darker environments...still providing a clear video of inside & outside the cabin. It was a bit challenging to wire everything out of site throughout the vehicle, but they provide a slender orange tool to provide ease of installation. In the past these cameras usually had a suction cup to hold the window. The Vantrue N5S 4 Channel only uses high quality 3M tape. From time to time on very hot days my older modle would fall. It was no big deal to suction it back up there but that is eliminated with this newer model that uses tape.I can easily connect to the WiFi with my phone via the Vantrue app & control the camera from a distance.I have not connected to a network, nor did I hardwire the camera to my vehicle so I can't speak for those features but, overall I am satisfied with its functionality and quality. To me the images are crystal clear and one can easily see needed details. I'm hoping the quality video shows up in my upload of the front and rear camera. Sometimes different sites only allow so much resolution and quality video to be uploaded. I definitely recommend this camera if you want all angles recorded simultaneously. ²

Arguably one of the best 4 channel dash cams
I've been using the Vantrue products for a while now, and this one is one of the best dash cams I've owned. The video quality is excellent across all four cameras, with impressive detail during the day and surprisingly good clarity at night thanks to the STARVIS 2 sensors and HDR. Having full 360° coverage gives real peace of mind whether you're driving or using the 24-hour parking mode. One design feature that deserves more attention is the placement of the ports. The GPS connection is integrated into the mount, while the power connection is located on the top of the camera. This makes a huge difference when hardwiring the dash cam. The cables can be routed neatly into the headliner with minimal visibility, resulting in a much cleaner installation and far better cable management than many competing dash cams where the ports are positioned on the sides or bottom. The build quality feels premium, the app works well, and setup was straightforward. If you're looking for a high-quality 4-channel dash cam with excellent image quality and thoughtful engineering that makes installation cleaner and easier, I highly recommend the Vantrue N5S.
