Baby Einstein Magic Touch Wooden Drum Musical Toy, Ages 6 Months Plus

This toy is exactly what I was looking for in a drum/bongo toy. It's relatively flat, so it's easy to keep upright when baby is banging on it. It also has actual drum and bongo sound modes, instead of just blasting music when you play with it, unlike other options I've purchased. Like other reviews have mentioned, if the drum set is not on a flat surface then you may have issues with the outermost pads working, but we use it on the bed and floor without any trouble. The best part is there are NO flashing lights!

Daughter loves this toy. Loves the music. Only complaint is that the animal faces, on the front, started to ware off after a few weeks

I bought this cool drum set toy on a whim for my 18 month old son who LOVES to move to any type of music thinking he might like it but I didn't really think much about it and honestly totally forgot I ordered it until it arrived 2 days later (it was a rough 2 days.. lol) so when it came I opened it up and immediately just gave it to him right there in the kitchen. He ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT and STILL does! My kid NEVER played with any of the multitude of noise producing, colorfully constant blinking, repetitious songs/sayings to the point of near madness baby/toddler toys for more than about 5-10 minutes... until THIS toy. He sat and played with it for a good 20ish minutes, finally moved on (as per usual), then went BACK to the drums again, he in fact did this several times. The toy itself is cute, the rainbow colors are very eye catching and the songs were something I didn't expect. I did not realize there were whole little songs on the toy as well as giving my son the option to hit the drums to make his own sounds as well. It really is a great toy and learning tool as well. I'm very thankful that I impulsively snagged it for him. I love baby Einstein toys in general anyways bc they are always good quality, fun, and developmentally helpful.

** 8/10/2019 Update Another user review commented on this, but the drum began to emit stuttering sounds when switched on, preventing the drum from playing. After swapping out the default 3 AA batteries with new ones, it works perfectly again! Just a note for customers looking to purchase this in the future, in case any of the "stuttering issues" may prevent them from a purchase. ----------- In short, the toy itself is very sturdy and has held up for the past month, despite the toddler banging on it with his wooden-block toys. It has a few scratch marks on it already, but the sound works fine. A few notes about the drum and the sounds: - The drum itself does not require the user to exert much strength to get the drum to trigger a sound, so you can simply tap the drum pads with your finger, or even wave your hands slightly close to the pad. - The drum sounds/pads can trigger slower paced rhythms fine on a single drum-pad, but usually anything faster will prevent the drum from playing sound properly. The far-left/far-right drum pads seem to be the most fickle, as I cannot consistently get the drum to play a sound faster than a 16th note (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t). - The drum also has some classical music built-into the machine, which plays when pressing the large blue-button located in the center. This is great for exposing toddlers to music early-on. At the end of the day, the toy is perfect for the kid, and he loves using it for drumming, a stool to grab hard-to-reach items, and for random bouts of stress release with his toy-blocks.

Gift for my grandson at 7 months. He loves it!

My son is 9 1/2 months old and we just know that at that stage they’re just hitting everything so we just thought of buying him a little drum kit but not a real one so this is perfect. The toy is really lightweight. It has a handle so you can carry it anywhere and then once you turn it on it has two settings one is For Music and the other one is for different types of how you want the drums to sound so you can actually change it it can sound like actual drums like congas or like I think it’s like a school band drum sounds different and then you can press on the blue button on the middle which has different songs. It has a lot of songs so you can just play with the song playing, which is really cute. It has one song and specific that is from a childhood show of mine called “el chavo del ocho” which I love

This was an awesome present to give my 8 month old! He loves playing the music and loves hitting things, so it’s perfect! The music isn’t annoying like other toy & the drum sounds are realistic. It does not light up, but it is made out of wood & it only has a knob to turn off/on. There is a handle to carry, but it was is very light & fits well in a toy box.

AMAZING! Love this product our song found the big blue button in the middle and he started dancing that week. Such a cute product.

Our young toddler really enjoyed this but the product broke down in less than two months of moderate use.

This is a really fun toy that isn’t annoying like other interactive toys. The drum had 3 different settings for different percussion sounds. The graphics are also cute. Recommend for babies learning motor skills.
