What activities are these mittens best for?

They’re ideal for skiing, snowboarding, mountaineering, and professional guiding in cold, wet, and demanding alpine environments.

Do the liners come out?

Yes. The insulated liners are removable, making the mittens easier to dry and more versatile for multi-day trips or changing conditions.

Are these mittens waterproof?

Yes. They are built with BD.dry –our engineered waterproof/breathable/windproof solution.

What conditions are the Mercury Mitts best for?

The Black Diamond Mercury Mitt are a popular choice for year-round use. The additional reinforcement layer stands up to rocky terrain, repeated rope handling and the general wear and tear associated with dedicated mountain use.

How do I choose the correct size for the Mercury Mitts?

Please refer to the size chart for measuring instructions. If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up. The cuff has a slightly snug fit, but the mittens fit the hand comfortably and securely once on.
