Can you use it for laundry?

Yes you can, I use it all the time. Just a cap full per load. Very concentrated so you don’t have to use much. I have a gallon for at least 6 -8 months with a family of six. We use it for shampoo, hand soap, and laundry.

Does this contain sodium lauryl sulfate? (Not sure what "foaming agent" means...)

They have one without the foaming agent, no suds. I'm looking for it right now!

How long can a gallon be stored before it expires? How long would a gallon last?

There is no expiration date. As far as how long it would last depends on how and what you use it for. That being said, it is quite a bit of soap. I've found that a 22oz bottle used for personal hygiene only lasts about 40 days or so, and a gallon has 128oz in it. I hope this helps.

I read where this product could be mixed with miracle grow to keep insects away. has anybody used it for that purpose?

I do not think much of miracle grow being used for anything. It is full of noxious chemicals. Miracle 11 on the other hand is a pure , useful product.
