Davidson's Tea Bulk, Moroccan Green with Mint, 16 Ounce

I make a gallon at a time and sweeten it with Purisure Stevia.

This was 12.50?! This is an amazing deal on a great pound of tea. The mint flavor is not overpowering, which I really like. This tea is amazing iced with a little honey and Splenda. I steep it for about a minute, strain it through a mesh strainer, bottle it, and put it in the fridge for a few hours. The remaining tea dust and small leaves that make it through continue to brew the tea while it cools, which gives it a nice, pungent kick. But do note that this is not a true Moroccan Mint tea. Moroccan tea is brewed with a lot of sugar, then fresh mint leaves are added to the brew. The tea most widely used is Gunpowder, and usually green. But this is a fine substitute for when you're not in Morocco at the moment. I drink a lot of green tea, and I needed a cheaper source. Davidson's was the answer. At 12 to 13 bucks a pound, with good quality, it's close to a steal. I have no idea of where the tea was grown, which is of no issue to me, b/c it tastes great, and it's organic. No Mercury or Lead to worry about. This is a whole pound, so please make sure you can drink that much tea within two months, or else it will lose it's flavor. Since it is shipped in a paper bag, I recommend transfering it to an airtight container as soon as you get it to preserve the flavor. Or better yet, vacuum pack some of it into multiple bags and open one up when you need it. Highly recommend.

The mint scent hits you right away, then the green tea. A great combination. A small hit of caffeine, so I don't drink it in the evening. I found that two teaspoons are adequate for my 16-ounce mug.

I love my teas, but whenever I'm undecided I go with Moroccan mint. This tea has a great flavor, tastes fresh and comes in a resealable package. We've been making gallon iced teas for some time now, but wanted to change up the standard black tea. This has been a great option and goes well with so many meals. For those wanting to try it and worried about over seeping leading to a bitter taste here's what we do. The gallon tea bags you buy like Lipton and Luziann have a half cup tea leaves per gallon bag. So this will work with any bulk loose leaf tea. We use a standard, non fancy coffee maker, put 1/2 cup of tea leaves into the coffee filter Fill your coffee maker up to the 10/12 cup water line. When finished brewing pour into a gallon pitcher. If you want to add sugar (we like 1-1/2 cups per gallon) this is the time to add it so it dissolves quickly while the tea is hot. Fill the rest of the pitcher up with cold water and refrigerate. Enjoy!

I have been a buyer of Davidson's Tea, and have been happy with all my purchases over the years; this time they let me down. This review pertains to a bag of Moroccan Green with Mint. The flavor is exactly what I was after, so they get top points on that. BUT the bag contains a large volume of "powder", tea that has be ground so fine that it goes right through the tiny holes in a tea infuser. The resulting brew needs to be passed through a paper coffee filter to remove the particles from the brew. This will be a real pain in the you know what that will be required for each and every brew. A Total Fail!

I'm so glad I found this! I drink 1/2 gallon + of the green tea/mint per day, iced. I brew it in big mason jars for 2 mins at about 185 degrees with 16g of the tea. Yes, I measure the tea and with my electric kettle it's easy to get off the boil and let the temp go down to just the right spot. I followed the amount of tea guidelines on the bag and experimented with the brew time and temp until it's just the way I like it. After it cools a bit I put it in the fridge overnight and it's ready to enjoy in the morning! I drink it throughout the day over ice out of a insulated Hydroflask. It's one of my small luxuries that gets me through the day. To be honest I tried the unsweetened iced green tea at Starbucks a year ago or so and really liked it, so I researched teas here to make it at home for pennies on the dollar. I get at least one bag of this on Subscribe & Save every month. We also make chai out of the roiboos, and I've also tried the Assam and really loved it. Love the price for so much tea and I will continue drinking this for the foreseeable future!

Not as much mint as other Moroccan Mint Tea I've had, considering purchasing another brand. Good value for regular loose tea.

Moroccan Tea is something that varies pretty dramatically, depending on the kind of mint that's used, and the quality of both the tea and the mint. I've bought Moroccan tea before that I've been pretty disappointed in, and have to say that this is one of the better blends I've had. My son got me started on Moroccan tea when he brought some home to me from Morocco once, and this blend seems closer to that authentic blend. I like the mix first of all - it seems a bit heavier on the tea rather than being overpowered with mint. As I say, this is closer to what I recall of the authentic blend that got me started on Moroccan tea. Second, I like the quality of the tea. I'm not sure what style of green tea they use, but I like this quite a bit. It's mild without a bitterness. Third, I love that they use spearmint rather than peppermint. I have no idea why so many blends use peppermint. Spearmint is not only more true to the style, but it's also much less overpowering and is a nice balance to the tea rather than drowning the tea. Fourth, I like the value here. This is a really fair price for 16oz of tea, and the fact that it's also organically grown in a huge bonus!
