HINTS for the PE exam: 1. Write down sections you use for all the practice problems. 2. Do not buy some fancy tabs, buy some tabs with different colors, carefully write and trim your own labels for each chapter, major tables, and major sub sections that show up in the practice problems. 3. When taking the test, leave all the code problems for after you solve the others so you are not constantly opening closing and moving books around, this will save you time and take advantage of "brain in code mode". NEC has improved
I updated from a 2005 (CT didn't accept 2008) and I'm impressed at how much more user friendly this book is. With detailed pictures now and examples there's less chance for misinterpreting bizarre and complicated text segments. I'd also recommend tabs. I never realized just how much time the cut down when browsing for an answer.

Great Addition
This is a must have for any electrician. The new 2014 version has one extra section compared to the 2011 version. This one is better than the soft cover one. They do better in the handbook with explaining certain parts of the code better and include many pictures.

Good Resource Received in Less Than Mint Condition
This handbook is very useful and pretty much a requirement for anyone in an electrical profession. Definitely a lot cheaper to buy this here rather than direct from the author. Having the additional information along with the code text can be helpful in some cases. In my opinion a worthwhile investment every three years for the price. Very pleased with the book itself, but it arrived with the hardcover corners bent in slightly and with a dark oil or something along the bottom edge of the book pages. Obviously not a big deal and has no effect on the content, but not up to my high expectations developed based on all of my previous Amazon purchases. Otherwise, very happy with the purchase of this handbook.
