Fantastic Toy
I am so happy I bought one of these for the grand kids! I've been staying with my daughter and kids (their dad is currently deployed) for the holidays so I've had the pleasure watching them play with their Plasmacar every day. And I mean every day, for hours! I wake each morning to the sound of rolling wheels as one of them starts their laps around the house with it. The house has all wood and tile flooring and the bottom floor is 5 rooms that are all connected by either open arched entryways or doorways. They open all the doors and ride full laps around and around. Four year old Johnny uses it most and has just now mastered the "no feet needed handle shimmy" propulsion method. He was using his feet up until this morning when I showed him the video review of the little girl wiggling the controls and not having to use her feet. He picked up on the method immediately and has been practicing all morning. He can now do a full house lap without using his feet. So if you are worried your child might not be able to pick up on the wiggle action, don't hesitate to buy this anyway. They get lots of enjoyment using their feet and when they finally master the controls they really get a boost of self confidence! And do as I did, show them a video and they'll figure it out faster. Two year old Hayden loves to do laps too and sometimes just sits on it in one room, rocking back and forth while his hands are busy with other Christmas toys. 8 year old Teagan doesn't use it as often but does occasionally enjoy doing a few laps. To be honest, I think she'd probably use it more if she wasn't so preoccupied by so many of her other new toys. Sometimes the boys double up on it as well. Surprisingly they don't seem to fight over the car like they do the many other new Christmas toys. I was a little worried about buying just one of these but they tend to take turns or double up. I also like the fact that the car can make extremely tight turns without becoming unstable or tipping. I've never seen any of the kids fall off. In fact, even with all of the use its had already I haven't witnessed a single "accident" with it other than bumping into objects from time to time. I was a bit concerned about the wheels running over bare feet while they scoot but its never happened yet. The car was very easy to assemble, took less than 5 minutes and no tools needed. It is built very sturdy and from reading other reviews I don't foresee that this toy will break anytime soon. I was also concerned that the wheels might damage the wood flooring but after hundreds of laps already I don't see any kind of marks or indentations on the floor at all. We haven't taken it outside so we don't have any idea how it rides on any other type of surface but for indoors it is an awesome toy that will undoubtedly get used every day. I highly recommend this car to anyone with children 2+ years. You won't regret the purchase!

A real blast even at this price!
This toy is just plain fun. Even for your kids! In fact you might have to get them one as well! It started when we ordered a couple for our two grandkids. Both boys. One barely walking and the other a 4 year old that doesn't know the meaning of walk. Once we got these put together we saw how much fun they were we had to find a reason to order more, so we decided our niece and nephew needed them as well. The specifics: 1. The toy is easy to put together. All you need is a hard rubber mallet (a block of wood and a claw hammer works just as well), and a Philips screwdriver. (You will not need to put in any screws but you will need the screwdriver with the included socket tool to help you tighten the nut on the steering shaft). There is a good video on YouTube about how easy it is to put together. 2. The toy is sturdy. Check out some of the plasma car race video's on YouTube to see how sturdy this toy is. (In no way do I suggest this is the way to treat the toy, but the videos are entertaining.) In any case they state the toy can handle up to 200 lbs on a smooth surface. I can personally testify that it will handle a bit more than that with no problem. (Hey Plasma Car! How about a bigger model made for us full size 50 year old adult frame types. I am at a significant disadvantage when sidewalk racing because of the cramped posture I must assume when competing!) 3. The toy is fast enough for any toddler, and on a downhill slope can be a real thrill. Toddlers will find it fun and they figure out how to make it move without any instruction. They can also paddle it around with their feet as well. Believe me, they will make it move plenty fast with just a little practice. 4. The toy is expensive but consider that if they start at 4 years old they could ride it for 10 years or more. So it only comes out to about five or six dollars a year. How many toys can you say that about? 5. No motor. No fuel. No batteries. You might think that means no fun. But not so! Certainly it's not as fast as a dirt bike. But watching my 18 year old daughter cruise around the house made me realize that fun riding toys don't necessarily need motors. And since we won't let her ride the dirt bike indoors, (or even her bicycle for that matter) this becomes a fun alternative. 6. Quiet. Except for the giggles and squeals. If you read other reviews you will see a couple of disappointed reviewers. As for being hard to put together, the ones we received went together easily. You will need a hammer of some sort, and some tool like a screwdriver to turn the socket tool but that is all. Fast and easy to put together. As to being slow, well it can be. It can also go fairly quickly. It's all in how you work the handles back and forth. Really, check out the videos on YouTube. I think kids of any age will really like the Plasma Car. I highly recommend this product.

Sturdy riding device for a lot of years of fun!
Our grandson is almost 3, and not a large child for his age, got right on the PlasmaCar and learned how to maneuver thru the house on the tile floor so quickly! His daddy envied the skill and fun his son was having, and had to try. With knees around his ears almost, he just couldn't duplicate the movability and style the little guy has in turning corners and gliding from room to room. It's "so fun" watching and really does make you want to try! Very sturdy and very unique! I can see many years of fun from this riding toy. We just purchased a second PlasmaCar in pink and black for our Granddaughter who will be 5 in Dec. Can't wait to see her adapt and watch them together as the cousins go head to head! The PlasmaCar is noisy in the house but you will know what the child is doing when you are busy with a task that needs your attention. Hard wood floors are excellent. .but carpets can be a hinderence to the steering, but our little guy puts his feet down, while still sitting, and hoofs it back to the tile. Can see that this will be fun for the side walks soon too. We have 2 younger grands and will wait to see if they will want their own PlasmaCar in the future. This is a very unique toy and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this for little one's learning fun.

Great Beginners Riding Car and one that will last..
My 1 and half year old fell in love with one of these at a Birthday party we attended. I was surprised to see that the age range is intended for 3 and ups. The Plasma car is very easy for my little one to scoot around on. He hasn't quite gotten a handle on how put his feet up and use just the handles to move forward, but the ease at which the trike moves makes it a joy for him to glide around even when he's using his feet to push himself along. The steering is very easy to maneuver and it gives him the freedom and confidence to move around quickly by himslef. We have had it for over 6 months now and it still his favorite riding car. It is light weight given its size, and is relatively low to the ground which makes me feel more at ease should he take a spill rounding a corner to fast. It is well made and sturdy. My husband (a very tall man) even took it for a test spin and moved around with ease. It is a great beginners riding "car" and I know he will be enjoying it for years to come

Assembly Tips
Rating based on my assembly and preliminary testing before giving to kids. I will post update if there are any issues. I didn't assemble this in 5 min as some of the other reviews suggest but it is fairly quick and easy provided you have the tools and watch the video ahead of time. It is also a quiet assembly so it can be done without waking anyone up. 1. Buy a rubber mallet with the car too if you don't have one! 2. Watch the short video on website before assembling. Good 2 min visual to accompany simple 9 step guidebook. 3. Have tools available for assembly 3a - scissors or knife to cut the string holding parts together (not noted in the directions) 3b - Rubber mallet - (based on other reviews i bought Stansport Rubber Tent Peg Mallet for $5 on AMZN add on when bought the PlasmaCars) 3c - Philips head screwdriver to use with enclosed hex key OR a 17mm socket wrench (for steering assembly) 3d - Flat head screwdriver or butter knife if you mess up installation and need to remove the steering wheel cap (not noted in directions) 4. Assembly Step Tips 4a - Step 1 - I had trouble wiggling these in. Both rear wheels are labeled with R and L and they should flare out from the body. There is a little bump out on the wheel post that fits into a groove as shone in the picture. I had to wiggle back and forth along with using the rubber mallet to get firmly in place 4b. Steps 3-5 - Step 3 - Make sure to remove the foam sheath from the front wheel assembly carefully as you will still need it in step 4. Thread the bare pole through the bottom hole, then reattach the sheath (step 4) before guiding to the top of the body where it will connect with steering. 4c Step 7-8 - Align the steering wheel. Wide part of steering wheel facing forward (i.e. farther away from body if you are sitting on the car) and smaller front wheels which don't touch the ground in the front. When you are tightening the screw in step 8, make sure that both the wide part of steering wheel stays facing forward and that the small wheels stay facing forward. When i assembled, the front little wheels which don't touch the ground got inadvertently turned around without my knowing when i assembled and so the steering was opposite what it was supposed to be. I called customer service and representative suggestion was to send in pictures and a video... I'm not sure how that would've helped me nor did I have time to wait for product support to respond. I was assembling 2 cars so once I did the second car I realized my error and was able to unscrew the steering shaft, realign and re-tighten. 5. Based on other reviews, I did buy Plasma Car Polyurethane Replacement Wheels - Black. I will post separate reviews of the wheels as they were sold by a different provider. They certainly do appear to be noise and scratch resistant compared to the OEM wheels. Note when i called customer service about my steering column issue I did mention the other wheels and representative said they do not recommend doing that unless the wheels come with the unit.

Lots of fun!
First, and most importantly, the company does provide a tool for the steering and wheel assembly but you're going to need a ratchet and socket to keep from having to constantly retighten the bolt. (If the bolt is too loose, the car will not move.) My kids are too old for this toy (they're 10 and 8) but it holds up to 200 pounds and my mother bought them for their birthdays. I was skeptical at first but they have a BALL rolling through the house on them. This would be a great riding toy for little kids learning how to manipulate and use their muscles in different ways. This toy will not work outside on pavement, although it might work on a smooth blacktop path. If it worked on sidewalks I'd give it 5 stars.

Kids and I really love it
I bought one of these- the green one first- and it quickly became a favorite thing to do at grandmaโs house. The 7 year old, 4 year old, and 3 year old all love it. It claims to support up to 200 pounds, so I tried it out myself. It steers amazingly well- I was able to chase my granddaughter in a circuit around the house through doorways and down hallways with no problem. The younger kids push with their feet more than using their arms, but it glides so well it works both ways. Itโs well designed, sturdy enough for an adult, and a lot of fun. The green one has plastic wheels, which are a bit loud, but the car is faster. The second one I bought was the blue one; it has different wheels- maybe with silicon or something on the outside rims- which makes it much quieter- but it isnโt quite as fast. The grandson I gave it too is quite happy with it nonetheless.

Big Hit at 2yr Bday Party, LOVE IT
Win Win Win! I purchased this for my grandson's second birthday and I felt that it would give him lots of years to grow and learn to ride. What amazed me was that he figured out the steering inertia with just a very brief introduction and spent most of his birthday riding around on the concrete with a huge grin. I told others that the weight limit is 220, so several "smaller" adults also gave it a go, but if you're over 5'5", your legs/knees will be up in your face on this one. Definitely turned out to be a favorite ride-on toy and I expect it to last for many many years to come. It's also pleasingly quiet down in the basement. Well constructed, solid build, easy assembly. I am extremely pleased and nailed it as a birthday present! I would recommend this without hesitation to anyone with a 2 year or older youngster.

Best toy ever
We just put the kiddos- ages 2 years and 9 months - to bed this Christmas night and my husband has since, been playing with the plasma cars. While he found them enjoyable, he did have a couple of recommendations. 1) Please add a cushion. He is starting to feel his age and his keister is tender. Perhaps, it's the padded chairs at work - if he chose to sit in a plain plastic chair it would be easier but, for all your 25+ year old plasma car enthusiasts, a cushion option would be lovely. 2) They're too short. Now, they're a great height for the children who we bought them for - a perfect height, I'd say. My husband, however, is 5'7 and apparently, finds them too short. He has a cramp (so do I but it's in the form of a headache caused by trying not to laugh at him). He'd like an extra-tall option for the same enthusiasts who would like a cushion. 3) He would also like a motor - a little one, though (I'm so sorry, PlaSmart). Apparently, it is very difficult to get over the bumps in the floor and a motor would help him glide with ease. Personally, I think he could use the cardio workout but as he lay on the floor, holding his rump, cramped up from the short car and breathing heavily from the workout - perhaps, he should just accept that he should let the kids play with their own toys and he can go play with his PS4 instead! Yes, there's my review - this thing is more fun than a PS4 and my husband is willing to cause himself bodily pain to glide across the floor yelling "wheeee", possibly waking up the true owners of these toys - the children. 100% worth every penny for such a great product!

focused on practicality
This is such a practical toy! My child doesnโt need to keep his feet on the ground, he just moves the handle and the car goes in any direction. Very easy to use and safe. Perfect for young kids who want to feel independent while playing. Highly recommend

This is a good ride on toy car for children
This is a good ride on toy car for children. It is quite safe, smooth and comfortable for ride on hard and smooth surfaces. Price may be little higher but children love to have it. It can safely carry 40 Kg or even more.
