Works on *Most* Colors
Im giving this 5 stars because it has always worked for me except this time so I thought id warn you all! The photos are before and after using Color Oops on processed(bleached), hair with Arctic Fox Transynvania. It started fading into green and purple which was kind of cool, but really not what I was looking for. Using Dawn dish soap a couple of times did help left it out but ultimately, I knew I would turn to color oops though I did have a suspicion my hair would turn more green because the last time I dyed my hair purple I tried using bleach to get it out and it turned my hair green. 🙃 Color Oops doesnt have ammonia or bleach but I just kind of knew it would struggle to lift this color out. I rinsed my hair for more than 20 minutes, with and without shampoo until the water ran clear. After 10 minutes the rinsing water was still blue so absolutely rinse your hair for 20+ minutes. I will say though... I have lifted permanent black dye from my hair multiple times with Color Oops. It never goes back to the blonde you had before if thats your goal, but it will lift the color out. Arctic Foxs Transylvania however is the first dye I could not get out of my hair. It did lighten it a bit but for the most part my hair is still very green and purple. This stuff does smell like rotten eggs so prepare for that and it lingers on your hair for at least a day.

For the girlies that left the salon crying
IT WORKS! Going from dark hair dye to prior bleached hair: I’ll post backstory under here but 1. If you got a lot of hair order 2-3 boxes. I have thick shoulder length hair almost ran out 2. Keep your environment warm! Keep your house like 73 degrees while doing this and after you apply put your hair in a cap and blast that hair dryer on high with heat! 3. (Disclosure I’m not a professional just someone that wanted all the permanent hair dye out and revert to what I had before visiting salon) I left this product in my hair for about 35 min. 2. Use Clarifying shampoos to wash out. they that are meant to remove product buildup. I used to Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo & Conditioner 3. RINSE SHAMPOO REPEAT! Follow directions shampoo and rinse for like 15 min just standing under the shower (you will be spending a lot of time washing) and then shampoo 3 more times and end with conditioner 4. Your hair will smell bad it’s like a sulfur, rotten egg smell. But the color will be gone :) So I have dark hair and spent years doing highlights overtime to get lighter. All I wanted was my hair to be a different tint instead of the orange brassy I wanted a cool red undertone to match my clip in extensions. Love my hair lady I don’t complain or cry till I’m home and still tip my stylists (cuss that’s just who I am) but hated the outcome my hair was basically as dark if not darker than my actual hair!!!! So I come to Amazon and find this product and it actually worked I got back to the blonde I had before!!! No bleach or anything so no damage to hair! If that’s your goal to strip your hair color to remove permanent or semi permanent dye this is for you it will not lighten you hair you are literally just removing product 1st pic is after salon with dye in 2nd pic is after I got done using product!

Damaged my hair and still trying to fix it months later
I tried this on my reddish hair (naturally brown) and it did take a bit of the red tint out but the REALLY damaged my hair. It felt worse than your typically bleach damage. I had my hair professionally dyed a reddish brown color but hadn’t had any new red added to my hair in at least 2 years (no dye at all in over a year). I was wanting to go neutral so could lighten my hair without so much brassy tone and also try to avoid a lot of bleaching jobs to limit damage. I figured if this didn’t take the color out since it was so old and stayed in my hair for so long that it wouldn’t be damaging and I could just go the bleaching route. It’s made it’s really difficult to lighten as I still have ongoing dryness and damage from this initial product so now bleaching is nerve wracking. I noticed not only dryness but my hair tangles easily and I have way more hair falling out than before.it’s constantly frizzy looking too and so lifeless because I am trying to lighten a bit at a time after how badly this left my hair, it’s a muddled dark blond and almost greenish in parts (not from this product but from how it lightened after I used this and then tried to tone it the red out) I should have just bleached it afterall and had better results if I was gonna end up with damage. I used this in Oct and I am struggling to lighten it and not ruin my hair. I lightened it in Nov but have been trying to repair it before I attempt to try to lighten it anymore. It’s so ugly I don’t take photos or haven’t gone out to see my friends since using this product. I can’t believe this little box has completely changed my life in such a negative way and for so long. It would be one thing if bleach had caused this but knowing that the problem was from this product that maybe lifted the red by a shade wasn’t worth it.

Removes color but not the best for black dye
Colorfix was my go to color remover for years but I decided to give this a go and I'm glad I did because it works just as well if not better without the rotten egg smell that Colorfix would leave in your hair that literally lasted at least two shampoos. Colorfix also will redarken when coloring hair again, making it very difficult to know how your hair is going to turn out without a strand test. A reminder, this will not restore your hair to it's natural color as color lifts... you will get a lighter brassy color once this removes it that you will either have to massively tone or color over. This stuff has instructions that you need to rinse for like 20 minutes, but I went kinda crazy and took Dawn (yes the dish soap) to my hair 2x and then regular shampoo to help remove the color. This stuff worked. I had a horrible red situation going on with a color that was supposed to be a deep red but turned out more clown 🤡 red. It removed it all without damaging my hair. Update: so the weirdest thing is the last 2x I used this, the rotten egg smell is present and it is POTENT. Like my hair stunk still after several shampoos. And when i decided to try colorfix again (have a black box dye situation I'm working out lol) it didn't smell much and the scent left my hair almost immediately. Also colorfix has worked waaaaay better for black dye. I made the mistake of recoloring the next day when using this and not just sitting in front of the mirror and watching the development, my hair turned nearly black again bc the old color remaining oxidizes so fast and then the new color grabs so fast. The best thing I've found for black dye is colorfix and then NOT recoloring for several weeks, even if things are super brassy.

Worked for me!
WOW! I have high porosity hair, and let my toner sit too long, resulting in a sad ashen mess. I figured I'd have to wait until the color started to fade, but then read about this treatment, and the reviews seem overwhelmingly positive, but not 100%. I followed the directions almost exactly, and it worked! I now have my hair back to the highlighted start. The scent is not pleasant, and definitely a slight deterrent, but to fix my mess, I was desperate. Also the EXTENDED rinsing and repeated shampooing, feels torturous. Again, I was desperate. You rinse the first time for 20 mins! Then shampoo again and rinse for 5 mins, X2 cycles. I ended up just standing in the shower, praying for the hot water to hold out, and doing squats and body weight exercises to pass the time. I am SO happy to be blonde again, even if it is a brassy shade. I did a protein treatment immediately after, and then used my regular conditioner. My hair actually feels soft, and no worse for wear. I am planning to do another deep conditioner x2 days and then use a protein filler before applying a toner (for half the time!), to finish my look. It's a lot of work, but much needed, as I have an event this weekend. My hair type is fine/curly 2C, so it tends to be more porous anyway, I just need to take more care. But I highly recommend this product, it absolutely saved me! I hope not to need to repeat again, but it's good to know, that in an emergency, I'm not totally screwed.

Only Worked on Grey Hair
Disappointed with the results. It only removed color from my grey hair and left the rest untouched. Did not work evenly across all hair. Expected better for a color remover. May work for some but didn't deliver what I needed.

The product works as advertised. You must shampoo and rinse as per directed.
Works well. The smell of the product is off putting. Horrible smell and it lingers where you wash your hair.

LIFE SAVER!!!! 💯🥰🎉⭐️
An absolute life saver! 🤩 Like an idiot, I tried coloring my partially graying hair with a shade which was much too dark. This resulted in a hideous, multi-toned color job. 😩 Color Oops saved my life! I could not have gone to work with the mess I had made. My hair is fine so I only left on for 15 minutes and rinsed the first time for 15 minutes. I followed all of the other instructions exactly. So far, my hair is just like it was before the epic dye job fail. 😊 The odor was not as horrible as some people say. I opened a window and ran the fan. I would highly recommend this product! Also, I used it to remove a spot of hair color I got on my shirt. Fantastic Product!!!!😍💯

Works but wow it's stinky
I didn't believe the other reviewers but it legit smells like eggy farts, and that smell lasts in your hair for a few days afterwards (depending on how frequently you wash your hair). That said, it does work and I do recommend it to help remove dye from your hair. However, it makes your hair very porous afterwards, so you're going to want to condition and do some hair treatments. My hair was a birds nest immediately after, and is now more prone to tangling, so I have to do a couple of deep conditioning treatments a week. As long as you're ready for a farty bathroom, and stick the to instructions, you'll be fine!
