Very satisfied with this purchase
I’m very satisfied with this purchase. The TCL NXTPAPER 11 plus performs exceptionally well in terms of both performance and ease of use. The NXTPAPER 4.0 display is very easy on the eyes and feels more natural than a typical tablet screen, especially when reading or drawing. The included stylus and flip case make it ready to use right out of the box, and the writing and drawing experience is smooth and responsive. Equipped with 8GB+8GB of RAM, this tablet offers excellent multitasking capabilities, and the 256GB of storage is more than enough to accommodate apps, notes, and media files. The battery life is outstanding, easily lasting a full day of work and entertainment. Android 15 runs smoothly, and the built-in AI tools add some modern features.

Excellent
The stylus works well for handwritten notes, sketching, and marking up documents. The writing experience feels smooth and responsive, making it a solid choice for students, professionals, or anyone who likes to keep a digital notebook. The tablet performs well for everyday tasks like streaming videos, checking email, web browsing, video calls, and using productivity apps. The battery life has also been reliable, lasting through a full day of typical use without needing to recharge. The build quality feels premium, and the tablet is lightweight enough to carry around comfortably. Setup was quick and straightforward, and the Android interface is easy to navigate. Overall, the TCL NXTPAPER 11 Gen 2 offers an excellent balance of productivity, entertainment, and value. If you're looking for an affordable Android tablet with a paper-like display for reading, note-taking, and light creative work, this is a great option that I would happily recommend.

Excellent budget tablet with a few caveats
I was eyeing the Lenovo Idea Tab until I came across this TCL tablet. I was particularly interested in its NXTPAPER display, because I've also wanted a nice e-reader for comics, and this seemed like it would do well for that. I wanted a tablet for streaming video on the go, light web browsing, reading comics, displaying recipes in the kitchen, that sort of thing. This is a secondary device for me; I already have a MacBook Air and a Pixel 10 Pro. Pros: + Performance. This is a $200 tablet with an older mid-range SoC. It's not as fast as the latest iPad, but it's reasonably snappy and doesn't lag much. There's an occasional stutter, like when you open Maps and it zooms in, but nothing that would bother me. This tablet is *not* for gaming; its Mali G52-MC2 graphics chip is relatively weak today. Light gaming and/or older games are probably okay, but if you want to play Genshin Impact or Marvel Rivals, you will want to spend more. + Build quality is good. The frame is aluminum and very sturdy. It feels more premium than the price point would imply. + The display is very nice. I love that it's matte, and the resolution is crisp. The finish is smooth and it's not a fingerprint magnet. You inherently lose a little bit of clarity compared to a glass screen, but I much prefer anti-glare anyway. + The NXTPAPER modes are great! It's not exactly like e-ink; I can definitely still tell it's an LCD, but I like the effect. Comics look good in the color paper mode, though I wish I could adjust the saturation. Likewise, e-books look nice in the ink paper mode. I would have liked to see a physical switch for the NXTPAPER modes, but having a quick tile isn't too bad. + Battery life is very good, thanks to its huge 8000mAh battery. + The pen works well. I like that it's USB-C rechargeable, just like the tablet. I don't plan on using the pen much though. + TCL's Android skin is pretty light and unobtrusive. They haven't made too many customizations, but in general I like what they've added. The eye comfort modes and battery saving features are nice. Cons: - No guarantee of Android updates. I don't think TCL has pushed a single update since the tablet was released, and as far as I can tell, they haven't committed to upgrading to Android 16 either. The tablet is still on the August 2025 Android security update. - Speaker quality is just okay. It'll work fine for YouTube, but it's not so nice for music or movies. - No headphone jack. - It's a little on the heavy side, maybe due to the massive battery. It's not comfortable to hold one-handed for long periods of time. - The case is flimsy and thin. It works okay, but it's a bit ugly and doesn't feel nice to hold in portrait. It's nice that the tablet came with a case, as there are very limited case options otherwise, but I would have liked to see a better design. - Ambient light sensor is poorly placed. If you're right-handed and holding it in portrait, your hand will cover it if you're not careful. - Cameras are so-so. I don't know what you need a back camera for in a tablet anyway, apart from maybe scanning QR codes. The front camera should be adequate for video calls. - There's a big sticker on the back with the serial number on it. Other manufacturers laser-etch it on, or put a small sticker on the side. This feels like an afterthought for an otherwise nice-looking device. - The touchscreen can be weirdly unresponsive when charging. Sometimes it registered phantom taps, and sometimes it failed to register taps. This might be down to the particular charger or cable I used, but it was weird enough to mention. It works totally fine when unplugged. I think for $200, these are decent trade-offs. I'm happy with my purchase overall. It can do what I need it to, and I would recommend it as a secondary device.

I recommend This Tablet (usually)
I've used this tablet now for some time and it's great for what it is. Im my opinion, the NXTPAPER modes are a bit of a gimmick, and I was expecting the e-ink mode to be exactly the same as my e-ink kindle, but it's not. I read a lot, and use this to store technical manuals, so the e-ink mode does make it a fair bit easier to read. I've used it for note taking during meetings, and that works very well too. All that being said, coming from a premium tablet, it somehow feels like a bit of a downgrade from my 5 year old Galaxy Plus. For me, that's okay, since the vast majority of what I use it for is reading, taking notes, and when I get bored I may use it to fill out a crossword puzzle or some other word game.

True Anti-Glare at an Incredible Price Point
I have really enjoyed using this tablet. My main uses are reading books and watching YouTube videos, along with the occasional movie and live sports. Across all of those, the screen has been an absolute pleasure to look at. I found it pretty much impossible to find another tablet on the market with a true anti-glare display, and TCL went a step further here. It incorporates advanced, E-ink-like comfort features while still retaining the vibrant color, speed, and versatility of a full Android tablet. There are zero harsh reflections or mirror effects, making long reading sessions completely effortless on the eyes. At this price point, the overall value is outstanding. If you are looking for a device that bridges the gap between a dedicated e-reader and a daily media tablet, I cannot recommend this enough.

Great tablet for notes - experience is influenced by app
I LOVE THIS TABLET!!!!! I only wish I would’ve bought sooner! I was looking for a device primarily for writing, note taking and reading. The price to value for this device is perfect for me. Battery life is great and I love the texture and visibility of the screen. Important note: with note taking, the first note taking app I used didn’t work at all and kept picking up my hand. This was the fault of the APP, not the tablet. I use notewise now and it works perfectly

Out of the way kindle, this is better for now
Okay I bought this because of chronic headaches caused by my kindle. I've been a stout kindle only for many years from the days of kindle hdx which was the best and still is in my opinion. I have a couple things to say. Shipping was fast and accurate. All accessories work as advertised. I've never used a matte screen before and it's taking some getting used to. The glare when in dark mode is annoying as heck. But this is literally like a book and pages are normally white and it works best that way. Very fast and responsive. Screen feels so interesting when swiping when reading. No finger prints and speakers are awesome. Playing with the sizing is fun cause when it says huge it means it. I've only had it or a day and this was a birthday gift to myself I had to wait for prime day to get since I researched the heck out of this after seeing one ad. I was going to get the 11 plus from Walmart but this is the better deal. Micro SD card is not compatible with one from the fire tablet 10 plus tho so that's a bummer. No complaints yet and no headaches either. The vision technology is really fun and I like the android environment . The pen is interesting to and it makes my writing look like it does on normal paper. I've tried a apple pen and tablet before and wanted to scream. Writing on glass sucks. I'm not a drawer so how it works with sketching I'm not sure but seems like it would be good. Reading webtoons, manga, books, web articles is awesome. Very happy with purchase may update later. Alright it's later and have some updates as of 03/22/2026. Things I have noticed: Screen is very scratch resistant Using dark mode still annoying cause of glare but bearable Final thoughts making this not a repurchase and taking off stars. Major major screen flickering. I can't leave it charging over the 100% or on continuously for a couple days in a row with no use. I've tried resetting and it doesn't fix this issue right away you have to restart three or four times and using eye comfort is nolonger possible without screen flicker. Only upper half of the screen does this. Changing modes doesn't work either. This must be a hardware issue and is a huge problem. I haven't tried to send it back since warranty is done. I will probably go searching for another tablet if this issue gets any worse and doesn't fix after restarting. Another note is flicker is only seen with light mode and not dark mode which is a pain. Will most likely not return to this brand either. What a bummer.
