The Carbon Fiber Case Is Amazing 🔥
This carbon fiber case is honestly on another level. Super lightweight, slim, and premium feeling while still offering great protection. The texture feels amazing in hand, the fit is perfect, and the buttons are very satisfying to press. Looks way more expensive than it is. Definitely one of the nicest cases I’ve owned.

This Pitaka case for the iPhone 17 Pro Max is exactly what I was looking for
I’ve tried a ton of cases for my big Pro Max over the years, but this Pitaka ultra-slim one in the Milky Way Galaxy pattern is on another level. It’s seriously thin—like credit card thin—but still gives you that premium protection thanks to the woven aramid fiber. Feels super high-end, almost like you’re going caseless but with actual scratch resistance and a little drop protection. The MagSafe compatibility is spot-on; magnets are strong and my charger snaps right on without any wobble. The new camera control button works perfectly too—no lag or mushy feel. Grip is nice without being sticky, and it hasn’t attracted nearly as much lint or fingerprints as my old silicone cases. I’ve had it for a couple weeks now with daily pocket carry, and it still looks brand new. No yellowing, no edges lifting, and the fit is precise around all the buttons and ports. If you hate bulky cases but still want something that protects your expensive phone, this is it. Worth every penny for the quality and how light it keeps the phone feeling. Shipping was quick and it arrived perfectly packaged. Already recommending it to friends with the 17 Pro Max. Solid 5 stars.

The Best Thin Case with Known Trade-Offs - A Long-Time Pitaka User's Perspective
I've been a loyal Pitaka case user for several years now, having owned them for multiple phones, including my latest iPhone 17 Pro Max. Let me start by saying that if you're looking for one of the absolute best thin and strong cases on the market, with fantastic aesthetics and designs, Pitaka is a top contender. What I Love (The Pros): Unbeatable Thinness & Lightweight Design: This is the primary reason I keep coming back. For me, a lightweight case is paramount, and Pitaka delivers. It adds minimal bulk to your phone, making it feel almost naked, but with a layer of protection. Sleek Looks & Quality Feel: The designs are consistently striking. While the black case is my current favorite look, I must note a difference in texture. My previous Moonrise (blue) and Sunset (orange) cases had a more tactile, grippy texture that felt superb in hand. The black version is smoother and a tad more slippery, which is something to be aware of. Good Basic Protection: For my specific use case, where I rarely drop my phone and don't need rugged protection, this case is perfect. It offers excellent defense against everyday scuffs, minor bumps, and scratches. Important Considerations (The Trade-Offs): Protection Level is Specific: While the case is strong and made with aramid fiber (often referred to as carbon fiber in general terms), it's crucial to understand its limits. This case is designed for everyday dent and bump protection, not for major drops onto hard surfaces. If you're prone to frequent or significant drops, this might not be the case for you. Texture & Grip (Color Dependent): As mentioned, the black case, while beautiful, is smoother and slightly less grippy than the Moonrise or Sunset versions I've owned. If maximum grip is a priority, consider the textured options. Overall Verdict: For me, the trade-offs are well worth it. I prioritize extreme thinness, minimal weight, and sleek design over heavy-duty drop protection, and Pitaka delivers exactly that. If your use case aligns with mine – needing protection against daily wear and tear, minor bumps, and appreciating a premium, lightweight feel – then this is an outstanding case that I highly recommend. Just be mindful of your own drop frequency and protection needs!

Premium minimalist case for those who value sleek design
I’ve been using the Pitaka Ultra Slim Aramid Fiber Case on my iPhone 17 Pro for the past week, and I’ve been very impressed so far with the overall experience. Design and Build Quality As the name suggests, the Pitaka Ultra Slim Case has an incredibly thin profile and is remarkably light, weighing only 19 grams. When using the case, I often forget I have one on at all as there’s virtually no added bulk. The case is constructed from Aramid Fiber and features a sleek black and gray woven pattern. It feels soft and smooth in hand, with a subtle texture that adds just enough grip. While it’s not the grippiest case on the market, it feels secure and comfortable to use one-handed without much concern for dropping. The MagSafe magnets embedded in the case are impressively thin yet strong. I’ve used it with my MagSafe wallet and the Pitaka MagSafe ring stand, and both hold securely with no risk of detachment. Another standout feature is the integrated Camera Control button. While I don’t use this feature frequently, my testing showed it works accurately, translating presses and swipes seamlessly. The button’s unique texture also makes it easy to locate by touch without looking. Overall, the design and build quality are excellent. Sleek, lightweight, and premium-feeling. Protection and Durability When buying an ultra-slim case, you have to accept some trade-offs in protection for the sake of form. The Pitaka Ultra Slim Case provides a minimal level of protection from drops and scratches, but it’s not built to withstand heavy impacts. The case includes a raised camera frame that helps keep the lenses from directly contacting flat surfaces. However, because the full camera bump is exposed, it doesn’t offer the highest level of protection available. Pitaka chose cutouts for the Power, Volume, and Action buttons instead of full coverage. This design keeps the case thin but leaves small areas of the phone exposed. Personally, I prefer cases with integrated button covers for better side protection, but this compromise makes sense for maintaining such a sleek form factor. The case also features a slightly raised front lip to protect the screen when placed face-down. However, this lip is minimal, when paired with my screen protector, it’s nearly flush (if not slightly lower). While I’m fine with that trade-off, I wouldn’t recommend using this case without a screen protector, as it doesn’t offer robust front protection on its own. Functionality and Usability The Pitaka Ultra Slim Case performs flawlessly with MagSafe and wireless charging accessories. I’ve tested multiple MagSafe chargers from different brands, and all worked perfectly through the case. My wallet, ring stand, and chargers attached securely and held with consistent strength. Its thin and lightweight design also makes it extremely pocket-friendly. There have been moments where I’ve forgotten my phone was even in my pocket, it’s that light and slim compared to bulkier cases I’ve used. Price and Value At the time of writing, the Pitaka Ultra Slim Case retails for $59.99 USD. While that’s certainly a premium price, it reflects the premium materials and build that Pitaka is known for. If you’re seeking maximum protection, there are better options available, even from Pitaka’s own lineup. However, if your priority is minimal bulk, premium materials, and elegant design, this case absolutely delivers. Among other ultra-thin Aramid fiber cases, Pitaka’s offering sits on the higher end of the price spectrum, but I believe it earns its value through quality and brand reliability. Final Verdict The Pitaka Ultra Slim Case is ideal for anyone who enjoys the “naked phone” feel but still wants a layer of scratch and minor drop protection. It’s beautifully designed, functional, and comfortable to use daily. Pros Ultra-slim and incredibly lightweight Premium look and feel Strong MagSafe performance Responsive and well-designed Camera Control button Cons Button cutouts instead of full coverage Raised front lip offers minimal screen protection (especially with screen protectors) Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4.5/5) A premium minimalist case for those who value sleek design and top-tier materials over heavy-duty protection.

Svelt, minimalist, beautiful and slightly thin on protection
An almost gold standard for aramid/carbon fiber cases, the Pitaka case lives up to its expectation with its build quality, attention to detail, and fit. In particular, I love the fact that the case wraps around the phone just enough but leaves enough of the aluminum underneath to be exposed so that you can see the color of the phone itself (see photos). It allows you to enjoy the beauty of the color you have specifically picked out for that thousand dollar phone of yours. With the slightly more rounded edge of the 17, the new phone inside the Pitaka case feels more comfortable and assuring to behold in hand. However, despite the typical accolades, this generation of cases for iPhone 17 Pro comes up slightly short on edge protection as it has almost no lip on the front edge of the screen. If you look at the attached photos, there is barely any raised edges on the corners of the case such that if you drop the phone on one of the corners or flat on its front facia, the screen is more likely to crack. This case has almost no visible lip that rises above the surace of the front screen--though you can feel the slight raised lip when you rub your finger aginst the edge. I have had at least a dozen aramind/carbon fiber cases for my various phones over the years, this case has the least amount of "lip" compared to them all. [10/6/2025 update] Also, after a few weeks of use, I have noticed the camera action button's cover is too flat and not contoured enough to give you a real sense of where the buttons are, making it somewhat difficult to access while you are on the move and trying to make a quick capture. In that situation, you can't just feel the buttons and snap away. But if you are completely stationary and have no time pressure, then you can find and "feel" the buttons more easily. I am only making this comparison because I have other similar but slightly less covered aramind/carbon fiber cases without any cover over the camera action button. For those, I can pull the phone out of my pocket and without looking at the buttons, "feel" where the action button is and make immediate use of the camera. So, for a semi-pro or someone who frquently need to take quick action shots, this case is not for you. For the purest who want the absolute minimal case, this may be that case, for those who are more practical minded, this case is slightly quesitonable. An additional consideration--the case comes with 3 tiny aramind chips that you can insert into the back of the case to help with fitment for those who may need it. That raises the question of whether there is enough variation in specs in individual cases such that some may require a filler to improve fitment. I am wondering whether I should just order another to see if there is more lip in other cases....

Still the King of Thin Cases!
I have been a Pitaka user for many years and this case does not disappoint! If you're looking for a phone case that nails the balance between minimalism and protection, the Pitaka case is it. This thing fits like a glove, precision-cut and featherlight, it hugs the phone so seamlessly that it feels like part of the device itself. In the hand, it’s smooth, grippy, and premium. Honestly, it makes the phone look better. Sleek lines, subtle texture, and a design that enhances rather than hides your phone’s aesthetics. Durability is top-notch. The aramid fiber construction is tough and scratch-resistant. Sure, it’s not built for major drop protection, but that’s not the point. I didn’t buy this to armor my phone, I bought it to preserve the feel and look of a naked device while adding a layer of real-world protection, and it delivers. This is hands down the best thin case I’ve ever used. The tradeoff, less bulk, less drop resistance, is a no-brainer. You get the joy of using your phone as it was meant to be experienced, with the peace of mind that it’s not totally exposed. It’s like going naked, but smarter.

Not great screen protection.
The case is well made, however there are a couple things to consider if this is the one for you. 1. The front edge barely extends past the screen. If you intend to use a screen protector this case will not provide any protection for the screen protector. I've gone through at least 8 screen protectors over the last 6 months as they are constantly breaking. I've had multiple break just from working with the phone in my pocket. I've only dropped the phone twice but my screen protector is constantly broken. 2. The case is extremely slick. It doesn't provide any texture for gripping your phone. On the positive side, the case seems to provide decent drop protection. I've dropped my phone twice and there is no damage. The MagSafe connection is very strong. Protection for the cameras is solid, the ridge surrounding the rear camera island extends a decent amount past the lenses.

Feels like there is nothing case at all
I will start off by saying if you are on the fence like I was for a while about buying the case and you like the slim minimal design I would go ahead and purchase the case. I started with Apple’s silicone case on the 17 pro max. The case itself was fine but the issue I had was everything stuck to it being that it is silicone. Pocket lint, dust, dirt you name it. I found myself constantly wiping it clean which got old really quick. This case is very well made and seems very durable. Time will tell if that is actually true or not but as of right now I am very happy. It is easy in and out of the pocket and does have a nice fit around all of the interaction points (buttons, ports, etc). One other area that I thought was a nice feature was the bezel that surrounds the camera. The camera bump is outlined in what appears to be aluminum which I think is a nice tough especially from a wear perspective and also adds to the premium feel. One more note on the feel of the case. The aramid fiber that they use for the construction feels really nice in the hand but may be a bit slippery for some so some sort of phone grip might be a nice addition. With that too the MagSafe magnets are reasonably strong with no issues on the apple mag safe charger or phone mounts. I won’t lie that the price is high but I have found that with some phone cases you do get what you pay for and this would be that type of situation not a great value but overall I feel like it is what it is. This isn’t necessarily the most protective case that’s out there which I was aware of. The front lip doesn’t protrude past the screen so if you constantly set your phone down on the screen side this may not be for you. However if you are looking for a very thin case that makes the phone feel like there is nothing in it at all or you want the no case feel but would like some scratch protection then this is the case for you.
