Lynda T8 Plastic Snap (Snaps)

Received the kit early. This snap fastener kit set is excellent. I love it. The snaps are well made, sturdy and easy to use. What I love the most are the color of the snaps, they are nice, bright and pleasant to the eye. I love working with the size T8 snaps because they are more noticeable when applied to a project. I have used a few black snaps as eyes and nose for some of my stuffed animal projects. This snap fastener kit is a "must have" for anyone who is into art and craft as well as sewing. I recommend this this T8 snap fastener kit :)

I’m happy with my purchase of the Lynda T8 Snap Fastener and Snaps set. I didn’t have too much trouble figuring out how to use it with the instruction card included. The clamp was ready for installing the T8 snaps when I opened the box. It’s nice that it can be used with T3 and T5 snaps as well because they included the appropriate parts necessary. The included snaps are about .5 inches in diameter. I tried the clamp and snaps out on scrap material first to get a feel for it. Paying attention to which side of the snap is male and which is female is very important because my snaps were not separated by their... “gender” (🤔🤔) in the included storage case. I included a picture with labels to help. I was timid with how hard I squeezed the clamp at first because I didn’t want to break the snap but I found that applying a good amount of pressure was necessary to properly secure it. I was able to squeeze multiple times to get it tight without damaging the snap. Since I’m inexperienced with snaps I can’t give an opinion on whether this set is better than another brand but I’m satisfied with the quality considering my needs. I wasn’t able to find anything like this set at the Michael’s Craft Store near my house.

These were just what I needed. I made a fleece poncho for my daughter and tried using the standard T6 that usually come with the kit, and the post was just a little too short, no matter how hard I clamped down. These were perfect for the thick fleece and flannel material, not a single one has popped off, which can be especially worrisome with little kids. They snap securely, but are not difficult too difficult to unsnap. Good variety of colors

The case was cracked and all the pieces were mixed together The instructions were very hard to understand in the top of the case. I watched you tibe and figured out how to do the pliers.Y first order didn't have the pliers but they replaced the order. These snaps were used for the seat belt covers i make for the Cancer Center for the cancer patients

Arrived quickly, exactly what I ordered. It’s easy to use after deciphering the directions, which aren’t the clearest, and finding a quick metube video. I used the kit to make some blankets into lightweight sleeping bags, and have other projects in mind.

Do not order these if you plan on getting the tool that is advertised as being included. The box even has a sticker that states “and Snap Pliers”. The snap pliers are not part of this, only the snap buttons. Highly irritating because I ordered this to make lanyards for my children’s school masks and now I have to deal with getting a refund and crossing my fingers that the next one I purchase hasn’t been falsely advertised.

For baby bibs I like the T8 better than the T5. Some of them need to have the point snipped off prior to setting in place as it is a little longer than should be. Love the colors and the way they look on bibs.

If the thickness of the material is not just right, you will have a problem with the snaps distorting and not being usable. Then they have to be removed! I found removing the ruined snap harder to do than installing them, you must careful not to damage the material or yourself. The amount of pressure installing them is critical all of which depends on the thickness and plies of material. Too much pressure and it distorts the snap making it not usable, too little pressure and the snaps won't snap together well. Somewhat disappointed in the quality of the whole process. Suggest testing snaps on scraps of material before going to your finish piece. I found the easiest way to remove the snaps was to use a leather punch tool with multiple holes and cut through the snap into a scrap of cardboard. Comes off clean with the hardest part being, to remove the snap from the tool after cutting through

the only complaint is that it was hard to use the tool at times. Once you get the hang of it things move faster

This is my first time using snap fasteners but they worked great! Really easy to use and arrived very quickly.
