Rumford, Baking Powder, 4 Ounce

Baked a perfect chocolate cake on first try! It works as intended and I did not get a metallic after-taste which I get with store-bought muffins. Can be used in a variety of different recipes. And it's aluminum-free, which is a plus.

I bought 2 5lb buckets before. The price increased so much lately that I tried another brand that didn't have aluminum, but said double acting. Turns out all those double acting ones have aluminum or some other unpleasant agent to slow the reaction process. So from here on, I am only using this brand. We have a large family and bake a lot... homemade biscuits, pancakes, cookies, etc. were going bad and being thrown out because we couldn't handle how it made the tongue burn when I tried a different brand. Just remember though, since it is fast-acting, you have to be too. Get it cooking as soon as you get it mixed in so you can maintain the rise. I always make sure the oven or griddle is fully warm before I add the powder so the dough or batter doesn't fall while waiting to heat something up. Also, baking powder can expire... it won't be as effective. This large bucket should only be for a business or family who does LOTS of baking. (Ie we use 1/4 cup every time we make pancakes. If you use 1 tablespoon, maybe it's not for you.)

I'm just one person, but my diet is severely limited by food allergies and baking powder has become a huge part of my cooking life. I was starting to notice shortages in stores, and I'm not sure what's going on there but checking online showed the smaller cans at ridiculous prices. I'm on my second tub from this listing now, and honestly it is worth the investment. I keep a reasonable-sized jar on my counter and fill it as needed from the big tub. Finding aluminum-free baking powder had become a challenge. I’m glad I was able to find it here. While it was a bit costlier than regular baking powder in our local stores, it was convenient. I use the aluminum-free for coating foods for frying, and air frying. It doesn’t have that bitter, metallic aftertaste you get from regular baking powders, but allows you a crisp coating; especially on air fryer chicken wings! The secret is to not use too much!

For the moderately large level of baking we do, this is the perfect size and price.

I'm glad I can get aluminum-free products. I used this baking powder today and it fizzled! Very fresh, great results.

I yam really happy with this brand of baking powder. Mostly because i don't see the dreaded Aluminum word anywhere on the ingredient label. Nor do i see a plethora of bizarre ingredients with unpronounceable names, a country mile long, which conjures up images of some wild eyed dude in a white coat dancing around in green light, whipping up a batch of bubbling chemicals in beakers whilst yucking it up, of which i don't particularly want to consume...and there is a Non GMO insignia on the label. Grateful to find baking powder that is more in tune with my dietary preferences.

しっかり膨らむのに苦みがなく、お菓子がおいしく作れました。成分がシンプルなのも安心できます。口が広い容器なので計量しやすく、使い勝手もいいです。もっと早く買えばよかったと思うくらい気に入りました。

カルディで400円で買えていたのに姿を消したのでAmazonで買ったら800円。なんでやねん。 商品自体は最高です。 すり切りやすい蓋のフチに、高さも低いので引き出しにジャストフィット。 アルミフリーで言うことありません。 後は値段だけ戻ってくれ。頼む。

あくまで使い方によると思いますが、我が家の場合、それなりに使うのですがのこり400g弱であまり膨らまなくなりました。 でも破棄した分も含めてもコスパを考えるとこのサイズを買った方が安いのでまたこれを買いました。 ジップロックなどに小分けして冷蔵庫や冷凍庫に保存しています。
