I do not paint for a living but I have worked in and out of commercial and residential construction for 33 years. I was blessed with a steady hand and attention for detail. I have earn a reputation as one of the best in my area, and I know the key to leaving beautiful paint strokes. My uncle Billy taught me decades ago that poor people can't afford to buy cheap tools. I had purchased a bag of cheap paint brushes because I thought it made more sense to trash them at the end of the day and start new tomorrow than to face the burden of cleanup. My paint didn't look so good then. Billy showed me that his philosophy was to buy good brushes and high quality paint, keep your brush wet, then put a little elbow grease into your paint brush at the end of the day. All it takes is a wire brush and some water. He would apply pressure from the handle and press down and out through the tips of the bristles until the brush was as clean as he could get it. Then, he removed the excess water and hung his brush in a clean space to dry over night. Billy kept a nice brush and he left professional paint strokes with crisp lines. I was sold on Billy's method after comparing his work to mine, side by side I can exert the perfect amount of pressure and velocity in the direction of the bristles to maintain new, clean paint brushes, which is all the difference in the world when it comes to leaving beautiful work. I highly recommend adding this brush to your arsenal.

Nice wire brush however it is not a paint brush comb as advertised.

This Purdy non-handled wire brush and Purdy's other handled wire brush/scraper are both a cut above the rest. They're easier to use and to handle. They create a better and more predictable result. They remain fresher and more functional, for much longer than most, that is before you succeed in beating them to death. These are an example of where quality doesn't cost, it pays.

I ordered this to clean my good brushes after painting. A well made brushes but then again Purdy makes a good product so you can’t go wrong in buying this brush. It works very well getting all the paint out of your brush. Love this tool and wish I had bought it sooner.
