A New York Times bestseller! This massive hardcover collection reprints Neil Gaiman's seminal, award-winning The Sandman: Overture , plus The Sandman: Dream Hunters and his two acclaimed stories featuring Morpheus's sister Death. The Sandman is the universally lauded masterwork following Morpheus, Lord of the Dreaming--a vast, hallucinatory landscape housing all the dreams of any and everyone who's ever existed. Regardless of cultures or historical eras, all dreamers visit Morpheus' realm--be they gods, demons, muses, mythical creatures or simply humans who teach Morpheus some surprising lessons. Originally published 25 years after The Sandman first changed the landscape of modern comics, The Sandman: Overture brought back Neil Gaiman's legendary series with a never-before-told tale featuring Morpheus! The Sandman: Overture heralds New York Times best-selling writer Neil Gaiman's return to the art form that made him famous, ably abetted by artistic luminary JH Williams III ( Batwoman , Promethea ), whose lush, widescreen images provide an epic scope to the Sandman's origin story. From the birth of a galaxy to the moment that Morpheus is captured, The Sandman: Overture features cameo appearances by fan-favorite characters such as the Corinthian, Merv Pumpkinhead and, of course, the Dream King's siblings: Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium, Destruction and Destiny. Collects The Sandman: Overture #1-6, The Sandman: Dream Hunters #1-4, Death: The High Cost of Living #1-3 and Death: The Time of Your Life #1-3, plus variant covers and extra bonus stories! 2020 and I still cannot get a book without physical damage
The book is wonderful, but the shipping is... I mean come on, I order a decent looking omnibus edition partly because of its appearance. Yet, I've recieved the book with a dent.

Book received damaged
My bad for ordering a book that was not shipped by Prime. The book arrived damaged (corners and spine partially detached). I have a feeling that the item was damaged before shipping since the box was not damaged itself.

Disappointed
I collect graphic novels and have started buying more of these Omnibus's. The first two were greta but this one is one third just a book and the story within are at best ok. This was such a let down as the first two are awesome.

excellent addition to a Sandman collection
I was delighted to see that (I think) all the Sandman-related works that have appeared since the original comics (collected in the first two Sandman Omnibus volumes), with the exception of the ongoing “Sandman Universe” series, had been collected into a third Omnibus volume. Among the standout features of this volume are two versions of “The Dream Hunters,” a seeming Japanese folk tale about a young monk and the female fox-spirit who loved him that Gaiman says he completely made up (but the imitation was good enough to fool lots of people, including some scholars): one with absolutely stunning full-page (sometimes two-page) paintings by Yoshitaka Amano, and one with very nice comic-style illustrations (but with the flavor of traditional Japanese woodcuts) by P. Craig Russell; two stories featuring the Sandman’s charming Goth-girl sister, Death, who I suspect that most fans love even more than Dream himself; and lovely Galleries of different artists’ takes on Dream, Death, and (to a lesser extent) the rest of their entertainingly dysfunctional family (Desire, Despair, Delirium, Destruction, and Destiny). Like the first two Omnibus volumes, the book isn’t cheap, but it’s worth every penny if you are (like me) an addict of the series and its characters or if you’re a fan of graphic-novel/comic art or fantasy art in general.
