Big Blue 10-Inch Sediment Filter

I have been ordering this Pentair Pentek DG-2501 about every month for many years now. It always works very well. BEWARE of knockoffs from other sellers...I thought I was buying the Pentek (the price was lower)...It looked the same...the packaging was similar...BUT it is a quarter inch too long! This extra length kept the sump from making a seal, which left water over my wall and floor. Do yourself a favor, Buy THIS real Pentair Pentak, it never fails!

Don't think they're better than the generic. But this dual gradient model has no noticeable water pressure drop compared to other filters with similar micron ratings. I get at least 12k gallons between changes. By 20k I notice it needs changing.

Its an OEM part so of course it "just works." Make sure you have the 10" Big Blue water filter system. If you need the 20" order the "DGD-2501-20." I hope that helps.

Not much to say. They fit my 10" big blue filter housing (one would hope since it's all made by Pentek). It's a 2 stage filter and it filters stuff out of my well water that I'd rather not drink and/or get into my fixtures/appliances. I specifically went with the 25/1 micron because we have some iron bacteria and most of the bacteria should get filtered out at 1 micron. I usually change these out at 6 months but honestly it's probably way too early. I have pressure gauges before/after my filters and I've never noticed a pressure drop.

I rarely leave reviews, but this one indicates a great product. I’ve tried various filters, from cheap to expensive, and this one surpasses expectations. My well water is high in iron (reddish clay), but this filter works wonders. Highly recommended, though the price is on the expensive side.

The Pentair Pentek DGD-2501 10-Inch Whole House Water Filters are better than the original ones I used to use. They seem to filter out sediment much better. The former elements used to show sediment on the interior portion of the filter. However, these water filters are clean on the house output side of the element, after 60-days of service.

Installed this on Friday night and now it's Sunday evening. The filter has stopped the Iron from coming through into our water. Our toilets used to look pea colored, but now the clear water has returned. It's quite fascinating when I look and see clear water from simply installing a basic $12 filter. Who knows how long it will last, but for only $12 I can afford to change it out as needed. Fingers crossed the goodness continues, well worth trying out if you're on the fence.

Good sediment filters but somehow I like the 5 microns better.

Works just like any other water filter and is cheaper than in a retail store.
