When the numbers flip do they make a sound or is it silent? If it makes a sound, is it loud?

When the numbers fall the sound is like a pen click. However the clock itself is not silent either. You hear the motor in a otherwise quiet room. Also fun fact: I have had it for a year. I have lost 2 of the number tabs. No clue why they just fell off. Other that 2 minutes an hour the time looks goofy it's a cool little unit. I would buy another.
