Super easy to use once you have chosen a place to install-(Make sure its almost hip to eye level so you can see in and activate simply) and I love the mechanism for opening and closing with ease. It doesnt have to be just valuables but things you wish to keep " safe" with ease , including precious small personal items and documents etc. Very good , easy to use and great value.

Works like a charm

This is an ideal buy for someone who wants to keep their personal valuables (in our case, birth certificates, photos, documents) safe and sound for a very small outlay (only sixty pounds at time of writing). It's heavy, strong and easy to operate. We couldn't get on with the fingerprint option, so we just use the keys and it works perfectly. Mounted securely, this will keep your stuff safe. Wouldn't recomnend for businesses with high turnover, because I see this as a domestic item, and you should spend more to secure large amounts of cash. For what we use it for, it is perfect. Recommended!

Why can’t Amazon make the fingerprint recognition work? This is so frustrating - I bought the safe because it is supposed to have the easy fingerprint access answer. But it just doesn’t work! Finger print recognition works perfectly on my Mac Book, so why is it so problematic on this safe where it is one of the most important factors? I will be returning the safe to Amazon and looking for an alternative that works!

In an effort to thwart the cat burglars of the world AmazonBasics now have a range of Biometric Fingerprint Safes. No more forgetting your combination! All you need is yoru fingerprint. I go the 0.01 m3 one. It comes sturdily packaged inside a heavy cardboard box with styrophoam cutoats and cardbaord corner protectors and cardboard supports inside the safe. It arrived in perfect condition with no dents or scratches. Whats inside the box: The safe 4 large expanding wall bolts Instruction manual 2 x override keys (in case batteries fail) Felt lining for bottom of the safe Setup & Installation: Very easy to setup - simply insert batteries and with the battery hatch half open press the reset button and follow the instructions to register your fingerprint. Can register up to 50 fingerprints. Be careful not to slam the door shut with the battery cover half open as the batteries can pop out and then you cant open the safe (except with override keys). Also never lock the override keys inside the safe! If the batteries run flat it's also the only way to open it. Find a place to install it. There are four large holes at the back and on the bottom of the safe so you can attach to the wall or the floor. I prefered attaching to a brick wall. The bolts are huge. If you choose to use normal wall plugs you will need a washer. Also if you attach to a brick wall and you want to also attach to the wooden floor boards you will also need washers. And thats it. Operation and overall impression: Performs very well. The safe is sturdy and similar to what you would find in most hotel rooms. It will prevent a snatch and grab burglar from getting your valuables. Won't withstand a more determined burglar with powertools and some time on their hands though. The safe is large enough for your passports, some jewellery and other valuables but its not large enough for a laptop. It has a shelf which is handy. Overall it is reasonably priced and does the job well. Recommended.
