works great
using in a laser spirograph project - very bright at around 2.5v - sturdy housing - works great

Low output.
They rate it at 5mw but it puts out less light than my cat toy at 1.5mw max.

Does the job, good value for two pack
Bought these for a DIY laser alignment project and they do exactly what they say. The 650nm red dot is visible even in moderate lighting and the 5mw output is strong enough for most positioning tasks. Getting two in the pack is nice since these small diode lasers can sometimes fail. The beam is fairly tight and consistent. They do run warm so do not leave them on for extended periods without some heat management. Wiring is simple, just two leads. For the price you cannot really complain, they work fine for basic applications.
