From Shel Silverstein, the celebrated author of The Giving Tree and Where the Sidewalk Ends , comes The Missing Piece Meets the Big O , sure to delight fans of all ages with Silverstein’s iconic drawings and humor. This companion tale to The Missing Piece is an inventive and heartwarming book where the missing piece is in search of its perfect match. The missing piece sat alone…waiting for someone to come along and take it somewhere. All it wants is to roll along with its perfect match, but some are too small, others too big, and some fit yet don’t roll. The missing piece feels sad and lonely until it meets the Big O, and learns that all it ever needed was a little encouragement and determination to fulfill its dreams. And don't miss Runny Babbit Returns , the new book from Shel Silverstein! Review: Great Read - Such a sweet book. These always make me smile and my son loves when I read these to him. Review: Corners wear off. It was rolling. - I didn’t think the original book could be beat, but this is the rare time the sequel is better than the original. A true classic and must own. This story is everlasting and good for kids, teens, full blown adults.

Thought-provoking and helpful in both parenting and therapy
This is a great story that I have actually used both as a parent and in my work as a psychologist. I have read it to my children to increase their understanding of boundaries and the idea of wanting vs. needing someone else or others in their lives. In my practice, I have found it helpful in working with patients with codependency issues. It helps elaborate the differences between dependence, interdependence and codependence and normalizes the challenges we all face in different ways in our lives. Ironically maybe, the use of characters depersonalizes the discussion and helps patients step outside of themselves for just a minute to see what their behavior may look and feel like to important others in their lives. It's also been very useful in working with patients with borderline personality disorder, as it helps them to better understand the importance of boundaries and the need vs. want idea, too. It includes a great deal of metaphor that is thought-provoking for patients and invites them into a dialogue about the challenges they face in interpersonal relationships. Very often, they can see themselves in the depictions of maladaptive relating, and they gain a new understanding of what's adaptive, why and how to achieve it. It helps solidify and give visual representation to the vital understanding of where they end and others begin.

A true treasure♥️♥️
This is a gift for my friend. The hard cover and sleeves are so nice that makes this book a great grownup advice book for anyone who is searching for true love in their life.

Sorry to disappoint-but it's not about "the big O". ;)
When my therapist first gave me this book to read, I thought it was truly about "the big O"! I was confused at first, until I realized it's not at all about orgasms, so you may or may not be relieved and happy about that! ;) It's about figuring out who we are and where we fit; it's a very simple book (my 6 year old can read it), but the message in it is powerful and poignant for every age. When I returned my therapist's copy to him, I bought my own. It's one I might need to read often to remind myself.

The antidote to codependency
The is the best allegory for autonomous intimacy ever written (and possibly the best possible). A beautifully simple story of longing, self-sufficiency, boundaries, and the inherently dynamic nature of relationships and personal growth. A wonderful book for children and adults; for people looking for a healthy way to conceptualize intimacy; for people struggling to make sense of relationship transitions. This books is a marvel and a revelation, astounding in its perfect simplicity. It should be mandatory reading as a prerequisite for intimate relationships.

A master piece
I loved this book and the other one: The missing piece. For me both are two sides of the same coin. Very easy to follow, and a deep reflection about relationships. Highly recommended.

Not just for kids
As a counsellor, I used this book and 'The Missing Piece meets the Big O' with clients experiencing breakups and other relationship problems. The wisdom about self and relationships in these 2 books far outreaches their beautiful simplicity.
