EmersonGear Recon Kit Chest Pack
A very nice piece of gear. Well made with plenty of pockets and pouched. 4x zip pockets in total, one externally and two inside the main zip compartment. I can see multiple uses for this item from sports shooting to wilderness trips, rafting, kayaking etc. Pack it with those essential survival tools and immediate access items that you just canโt do without if you get separated from your main pack. Plenty of carry space for maps, compass, field note pad, pocket knife, GPS, matches, lighter, torch etc. If you find it too cumbersome or restrictive to carry just pack it away in your main backpack. Measuring 12.6โ x 7.9โ x 2โ, I had wondered if it might prove to be too wide for my small frame but that is not the case. A very competitive price when compared with other brands of similar items yet still made to a high standard with all the features the other brands have. Made in China. In keeping with other reviews I also reconfigured the straps to the correct orientation. I'm so impressed with this item I have ordered a second one in multicam. PRODUCT UPDATE: THERE ARE AN AWFUL LOT OF WHINY POSTS ON THIS PAGE REGARDING THE USABILITY (OR LACK OF) OF THIS PRODUCT AND THE SLIPPAGE OF THE SHOULDER STRAPS. FOR SOME REASON THIS PRODUCT ARRIVES WITH THE SHOULDER STRAPS THREADED THROUGH THE BUCKLES THE WRONG WAY. ALL THAT IS REQUIRED IS FOR THE END USER TO RE-THREAD THE STRAPS THROUGH THE BUCKLES IN THE CORRECT ORIENTATION. IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE !!!!!!! I have also added a wide Ranger Band to each of the tension straps of the harness to tuck away the straps and these can be slid down as far as the buckles. Even with the addition of another small pouch attached to the molle on front of this unit the straps retain this unit in position without slipping.

Nice quality for the money
This is a nice piece of gear. I know this is a rip off of the hill people gear, which I am sure is made much better, but for the money I like it. It has good quality cordura and what seem to be good zippers. I would like to see a little bit longer straps and better buckles that hold the nylon straps better. I made a very minor mod to mine and seems like it will work just fine. If I like this and it falls apart I will def but the hill people gear, but for now it seems pretty good.

Straps can be fixed
Product is fine. It's basically what I expected. Feels durable, has a good number of pockets and compartments. Padding on the back of the pouch is nice. I think it's a good value compared to similar products. I mostly wanted to write a review to include this picture for anyone concerned about or having trouble with the straps sliding. The straps are designed to side when pulled on one end and stay tight when pulled on the other just like a seatbelt. This is so you can tighten them while you're wearing it, but they won't loosen up on you as you walk. If your straps are sliding then reverse the direction they feed through the buckles. I had to reverse all 4 of my straps. Picture for reference.

Would recommend another company if you use it regularly
Con's 1. We questioned if this one had been used before as the tag on the bag has significant fading (signs of wearing) 2. The biggest issue is that the bag will not stay secure, the straps will loosen as you move around. If you just carry a wallet, phone, keys, you should be OK. 3. We noticed that the way they were, they seemed to be looped backwards in the clip. This could be because they sent us a used unit. 4. We resolved this issues by having stainless buttons added to the straps, so they are now set in one position. Pro's 1. Slim design 2. Plenty of compartments, thought out design for those who work in LE, agency's, or the outdoors advocate 3. The material felt good when opening the packaged We own and operate an outdoor goods company (15 years), we ordered this one hoping it could be an option for some of the customers we have, but would recommend Haley Strategic for those that want a bag with zero issues.

Great Value, Highly Recommend!
Yeah, the straps slip - easy fix. $100 cheaper than the Hill Peoples Gear bag - you do the math.

Very impressed at the quality of this item. Gives overpriced competitors a big run for the money. Sturdy and very useable.

Straps work fine, just need to be reconfigured.
Lots of reviews about straps not holding. The work fine if you reconfigure them correctly. Straps come configured โbackwardโ and do not provide necessary friction. Take the running end and start it at the opposite side of the buckle...

Money well spent!
Great product! A buddy of mine has the chest pack this one is based off of and when I showed him mine he was sad he spend what he did on his. The quality of this for the price is great. Just donโt over pack it or you will look like your going to go save Privat Ryan.
