Is the price $299 for the pair of speakers or just 1 of them?

Hard to say, only one who can answer that would be Amazon or the seller? I have owned these and the detail is outstanding. Great for movies/home theater. However, the definitely get exposed at when pushed with certain types of music and higher volumes. If they are used within their limits etc.... excellent speakers
