Lalvin 71B-1122 Yeast

I've done a Christmas spiced sparkling hard cider for friends for the past few years, and this year I used Lalvan 71B, and it produced the best batch yet. Fermentation to dry was quick to start, less than a week, after which I cold crashed for two days, producing excellent flocculation of dissolved yeast. Following that, U treated the cider with Campdens/Potassium sorbate to prevent further yeast activity and backsweetened with brown sugar to medium dry and kegged. The resulting product had excellent balance, with great clarity, and a crisp flavor with little yeasty aftertaste, and no off-flavors or funkiness despite only about a month of mellowing.Definitely going to use this again in my next cider batch.

BEWARE; this item was shipped with no box or envelope, just the single packet.I forgot I'd ordered it until I needed to use it, and noticed it was delivered two days prior. I found that the wind blew it a couple feet from my door and survived quite a few storms that blew through. The outside was soaked, but the contents where completely dry. I used one packet for three, one gallon brews and all are vigorously bubbling. I highly recommend this versatile yeast.

Yielded a solid 13% in my last melomel. No cloying aftertaste. No soured milk aftertaste like a champagne style yeast. Works beautifully with sweet fruit wines.

Worked exceptionally. Fermentation kicked off quickly and it is quite aggressive. The picture is of the second day of fermentation for blueberry wine.When you receive it be sure to store in the refrigerator if you aren't using it that day. Also follow the directions for activation.

I figured I would try it not knowing if it was kept in cold storage at amazon warehouse because of next day delivery but it worked great

Good quality wine yeast. Very active. Great for brewing cider. Those little guys are real troopers! It's probably a great yeast for mead too. This yeast LOVES honey.

I used this to make a few batches of mead, one of them ended in stuck fermentation. The mead came out pretty good with no bad taste and finished around 13% ABV. I normally use the WLP099 but wanted to see how this works, I will be going back to the WLP099.

I am trying to improve the Quality of my Blackberry Wine and I read that this Yeast is more tolerant of Alcohol and should convert more of the Sugar to Alcohol, I only used Baker's Yeast last Year. Delivered the Day after my Order excellent, Thank you.

Really good stuff nothing to whine about here!

the product worked as described and performed well, no issues with product. How ever, the way in which it was shipped ended up to be a frustration for me. You taped product to billing sheet and removal from paper compromised the packets.
