Haven't found another grade school math book that is as challenging
Great in challenging your brainy grade school kid. American math are way too easy and this provide a window into what other country are doing in teaching kids math. Math learning has 2 components: repeat practice basic skill and challenge critical thinking. This provides the critical thinking portion. So why 4 stars? I bought 3+ and it is missing the 1st 20 pages. The replacement is the same.

Challenging Math questions teaches to think in a different way. I find myself solving the problems eagerly while helping my daughter.

The book was listed as brand new one. However, what I reeived was a used one. Over 10 pages are missing, and one page with handwriting!!

Too hard for most 3rd graders
I am doing a few questions each day with my 8 years old child. We are preparing for Kangaroo Math competition. He is understanding the questions after my husband and I give him hints. Still, some of the logic problems are very challenging even for adults. Example - Chicken & Rabbit A farmer has 80 chickens and rabbits. There are a total of 250 legs. How many chickens are there? How many rabbits are there? Answer - 45 rabbits and 35 chickens

Way more fun than a traditional workbook - its math puzzles
I am a Montessori teacher and avoid workbooks, but like to link the children to traditional math work too. This book is perfect as it presents math puzzles which open a mind rather than close a mind.
