CATCH NOT A BOX ON APPLE TV+! A celebration of the power of imagination from the Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor Award-winning creator of Not a Box Experience the thrill of the moment when pretend feels so real that it actually becomes real! Following the critically acclaimed Not a Box , this book proves that a stick is not always just a stick. Whether it's conducting an orchestra, painting a masterpiece, or slaying a dragon—give a child a stick and let imagination take over and the magic begin. Review: What a great book for a kid’s imagination! - This is a really sweet book about a child’s sense of play. Kids should be able to turn anything into a toy like this cute little pig does with a stick, and this book can get their creative ideas going from a very young age. It reminds me of my childhood and of how creative my kids and nieces and nephews are. I bought this book along with a bunch of others as a gift for my cousin who is expecting, and she loves it. NOT A BOX is another cute book by this author. Studies show that parents should start reading to their kids as soon as they’re born to get those little brains going! “An environment rich in print” is important for all kids and their development. This is a great book to add to a small child’s library. Review: Imagination Will Follow - Wonderful book to read to get the imagination of young ones flowing. I used for my preschool class who is 3 5 to 4 and it was a hit. The sticks became all.kinds of things. I documented it all. This will remain in my library.

Opens up imaginations!
I got this after falling in love with 'Not a Box'! It opens children's minds up to imagining what could be! I love that the book takes a simple object found on the ground and turns it into so many possibilities for play! In a world of buttons and bleeps and toys that talk for us, this is a must have to bring the world of imagination back into focus!

Kid favorites
This and its companion book are excellent kid books - funny, simple, and relatable without being saccharine. They're short and straightforward enough that my very young toddler loves them, my older kid who's just reading can read them without help, and my oldest doesn't mind hearing them on repeat. The art is perfect and also avoids cutesiness while being really engaging. These are my go-to gifts for parents of toddlers. Highly recommended!

Great Book for Early Childhood Education!
I teach English as a Second Language (ESOL) to prekindergarten students. This book became the basis of a lesson on imagination. We read the book and then imagined other things that a stick might be. I then brought in small sticks gathered in a park and had the children draw what they might imagine what a stick could be. I then taped the sticks to the drawings and wrote what the children told me about what they had drawn beginning with the phrase, "It's not a stick, it's a ......." I would recommend this highly for students in prekindergarten or kindergarten. I would also recommend the author's other book "Not A Box."

Awesome book about imagination and creativity
This book is a simple but very clever illustration of the power of imagination. On each page, the main character imagines the stick to be a different tool, from a horse to a baton, and shows the adventure he is having with it. My only complaint is that the line quality of the drawings is a little bit pixelated, but other than that it's a very sweet book, and I love the message in it that creativity and imagination are important.

Great!
My 2-year-old loves this book! It's not quite as good as Not A Box, but it's still great!

why all children play with sticks
This is a really lovely book. Along with "Not a Box" I've read it to lots of children who love it. Its very simple images and children love to guess what the pig is pretending the stick is. I think its clever too - so many adults are so quick to utter the "put that down" comments without stopping to understand and see what the child might really be doing. Children seem to really appreciate that this book understands that a stick can be so many different things...
