I have used this hygrometer for 1 year and it works great. living the south, I aslo have a dehumidifier. I need it indicate whether I should turn on dehumidifier. It works great with the dehumidifier. Also, if you also need a dehumidifier, I will recommend this mylinskin brand, search for 'Mylinskin dehumidifier'.

Is it water proof? Want to use it in my snakes terrarium but not sure if it will handle when it gets misted

It should be fine for in your snake’s terrarium as long as it’s not submerged. I use these for my crested gecko’s terrarium and I’ve misted straight onto this device and it’s totally fine. Obviously the humidity will go up quickly when you spray directly onto it but The device itself will be completely fine

What is the process of calibrating this gauge?

There is no calibration. Only Celsius and Fahrenheit switch

Can i use this for my cigars?

Yes! They are small but accurate and will easily fit in a humidor.
