It really works - not a gimmick. For anyone with weak hands and can't do those pill bottles when you have to press down to open - using the opener really, really works. Tried to today on three different bottles.

Very handy for those with weak grip strength—opens jars and bottles effortlessly. The silicone handle is comfortable, but the can opener function is just average. Great for elderly users or arthritis sufferers. Looks sleek and is made with a higher quality plastic. Can fit many different size jars.

We live with my wife's 93 year-old father, and he has trouble opening jars (and I admit that I sometimes have problems too!), so I looked for solutions. Found this jar opener set and it has been really great to have around.The opener is made of stiff plastic with a silicone insert that grips the top of a bottle or jar. You open the jaws and slide the jar lid under the opening. Squeeze the handles and twist, and the cap comes right off. You can't tell the size of the opener from the product listing , so I included a short video. There are 4 decreasing size openings to fit various bottle sizes. In the video, I use this on a pasta sauce bottle and it fits perfectly.The set also comes with a second opener that works with soda bottles and pull-top cans. Between these two openers you should be able to open almost any bottle or jar.Everyone in the house appreciates having this set!

I have always struggled to do things that involved hand strength and it only gets harder as time goes on.After almost having to go to a neighbor and asking for help to open a jar a couple times I decided it was time to buy something to help me.The package was delivered exactly as I was struggling to open a jar, so I got to use it right away. I was a bit nervous that the jar that I was trying to open was to big to use this for, but I soon learned that it was a perfect fit and I had no trouble at all opening the jar.These feel like a sturdy product and it has its own “grip” so you don’t even need to squeeze it hard to use it. I can’t believe I waited so long to get these.

he smaller opener for cans and bottles works beautifully!However, the larger opener designed for jars does not work well at all. I have another jar opener that works great because it has ridges on the inside of each ring, which gives it a strong grip. This one does not have those ridges and is smooth on the inside, so it tends to slip and slide instead of gripping the lid.That being said, I can open some jars that already have ridges on their lids fairly easily.I would have returned the item, but unfortunately I let too much time pass and missed the return window.The red one is the one I should have refunded. The turquoise one as you can see has ridges.

Since I have arthritis in my hands, this kitchen tool has changed the fact I don't need to ask anyone to open jars, etc any more. It is a must for all kitchens. Plus, it xame with a tool to open bottles. I highly recommend this!

Takes a little getting used to, however does the job adequately when the lids are so tight you cannot remove it with just your hands.
