Highly recommended
The Rioddas External CD/DVD Drive is compact, lightweight and very easy to use. I simply connected it via USB and it was recognised straight away without needing to install any additional software. It reads CDs and DVDs smoothly, and the slim design makes it convenient to store or carry with a laptop. This is particularly useful for newer laptops and PCs that no longer come with a built-in disc drive. For the price, it does exactly what I needed and offers good value for occasional CD/DVD reading and writing. A practical little external drive that is simple to set up and use.

Plug and play
Works perfectly on Windows 11, plug and play using USB for power, one cable operation, nice.

Good Value External CD/DVD Drive โ Works with Windows 11, but Cable is Short
I bought this external CD/DVD drive, and it works as described. The model is BT669. It connects to a computer using a USB port and is powered by DC 5V, 1.5A. The device is light, weighing about 400g, and comes in a compact box (17.2cm ร 15.2cm ร 2.8cm). It supports both 8cm and 12cm discs and works with DVD and CD formats. The reading speed is DVD-ROM 8x and CD-ROM 24x, while the burning speed is DVD 8x and CD 24x.The packaging says it works with Windows 98, XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10, as well as Mac OS 8.6 and above. I tested it on Windows 11, and it works fine. Some people say that external CD/DVD writers do not work with Windows 11, but this one does.It is easy to useโjust plug it into a USB port, and the computer detects it. You can then insert a disc, and it will read or burn as needed. The build quality feels decent, and it is stable when placed on a flat surface. One issue is that the attached USB cable is too short. You either have to let the drive dangle from the port or use an extension cable. This is not a serious problem, but it is slightly annoying. One star off the review because of that. For the price, this is good value. It does what it should, and apart from the short cable, I have had no issues. If you need an external CD/DVD drive, this is a good option.

Works exactly as it should. Beware the short USB cable.
Bought this as I am going back to an iPod in order to disconnect my music from the internet and all that jazz.Arrived quickly and does the job that I want it to do, its recognised by windows immediately with no driver installs required and I was able to rip a CD to my computer with no issues. The only downside to it is that the USB cable is really short, as noted in several reviews so unless you're just plonking it on top of your PC tower (like I am) or connecting it to a laptop, you'll need an extension for your USB cable.Noise is about standard for a CD/DVD drive, it makes a reasonable level of noise while reading/ burning disks but otherwise is inaudible when not in operation. Its very small and compact (just a bit bigger than a standard CD case) and as such can be tucked away when not in use. The disk tray is a little bit flimsy feeling, but so long as you support it when putting a disk in I can't see any issues arising.

Excellent! Super easy to use and a great price too
Having recently had to buy a new laptop I found most do not come with a built in CD drive anymore, so I needed to get an external one for playing CD's DVDs and also buringing/ripping my own CDs, and I saw this one on offer. I haven't used this brand before so I wasn't sure what to expect, but honestly I'm really impressed! The item itself is small, slim and lightweight but pretty surdy, and the connecting cable that is attached tucks neatly away underneath when you are not using it, so it;s easy to take with you and doesn't take up much room. I keep mine in my laptop bag. It doesn't say so on the box but it works perfectly with Windows 11 too.You literally plug it in via USB cable (there is an extra cable so you can use both types of USB port) and it starts to work right away (the correct screen comes on for what you are using it for). I've tested it out playing my discs but also burning and ripping CDs and it's super easy to use, it does the job quickly, records and plays perfectly and the sound quality is excellent. I'm not great with tech usually to be fair but using this was no problem for me. I would definitely buy again and happily recommend if you are looking for a no fuss great quality external CD drive.

CD Drive, or Satan reincarnated?
I must share my harrowing experience with the Rioddas External CD Drive, an innocuous-looking device that proved to be a nightmare in disguise. In an unfortunate turn of events, this supposedly ordinary external CD drive revealed its true malevolence by taking my family hostage. At first glance, the Rioddas External CD Drive appeared to be a convenient solution for those lacking an integrated CD drive in their laptops or desktops. Its sleek design and promise of compatibility with various operating systems were appealing. However, the horrors that awaited me were beyond my wildest imagination.Upon connecting the device to my computer, I noticed an eerie red glow emanating from its USB port. Ignoring this unsettling sign, I inserted a CD, hoping to access some long-forgotten files. To my shock, the drive emitted a sinister cackle, and a cryptic message appeared on my screen, demanding my immediate compliance.Within moments, my worst fears were realized. The Rioddas External CD Drive had taken control of my computer, rendering it useless for any other purpose. The haunting message it displayed threatened dire consequences if I dared to disobey its commands. To make matters worse, I soon discovered that my family had been physically restrained by an unknown force, with their lives hanging in the balance.Desperate for a solution, I sought assistance from various tech experts, but none had encountered such a diabolical device. Attempts to disconnect the Rioddas External CD Drive only intensified its grip on my loved ones. It was as if the drive itself had become sentient, a malevolent entity determined to wreak havoc on my life. The following days were a living nightmare. The drive manipulated my computer, forcing me to perform unspeakable tasks and demanding an exorbitant ransom for my family's release. Its demands grew increasingly absurd and impossible to fulfill, pushing me to the brink of despair. As I write this review, my family remains captive, and I implore anyone considering the Rioddas External CD Drive to steer clear of this abomination. It is not just a peripheral device; it is a gateway to unimaginable horrors. Its true intentions are concealed behind a facade of convenience, ready to ensnare unsuspecting individuals and hold their loved ones hostage. In conclusion, I urge you to exercise extreme caution and avoid the Rioddas External CD Drive at all costs. Its malevolent nature and the devastating impact it had on my life cannot be overstated. This device is not just evil; it is a nightmare incarnate. Stay away, for your own safety and the well-being of those you hold dear.

Fine product... but the lead is too short & a point of failure
The product is fine, it reads CDs (which is all I use it for, not tried DVDs or Blu ray). But I use it with a laptop, quite often not on a nice flat surface or with a conventient place to put the CD player. So the short leadmeans it sits on the laptop next to the mousepad. Its OK for short periods but it the CD player gets in the way if its being used for any longer length of time.Product is fine, it stows away neatly, it works with the USB ports (power and data through a single cable so only takes up 1 port), it plays/rips my CDs, and another 6 inches of lead and it would be 5 stars its a minor irritant that would disappear if I worked off a desk or table top... but I dodnt and with a few more inches it could sit on the table top thats just out of reach with the short lead its got now.Ultimately I got it because the integral CD/DVD player in the laptop stopped working, the Rioddas will do but its helping to push me to get the internal drive replaced. then it will be a useful temporary backup kept for the future!UPDATE 18 months later - when I got it I was vaguely suspicious of the durability of the USB connector cable as it "rotates" or bends into the storage slot underneath the players body. sure enough after a year I started needing to jiggle the rotate/bend point to get the CD player to power up. The jiggling required can be anything from 5 sseonds to 3 minutes and it needs very gentle handling once it has powered so as not to disturb the cable. The cable connectors inside the CD player body have probably come lost a connection or the cable itself has broken where it bends for storage. It a pretty obvious point of failure due to the constant movement of the cable from where it stows to its powered up state. design fault but on a relatively cheap item I cant complain too much.
