I have the original set from 1978. These tiles are not polished and don’t have the weighty feel that was so satisfying to play with. The tiles are 1/8” shorter in height. There was a white powdery residue on the tiles so I wiped all of them down front and back with a damp cloth. They feel perfect now. Now don’t get me wrong...it’s a fine set and the case is sturdy. We will give one or two at Christmas. Throw away the flimsy inside cardboard box and toss the tiles in all jumbled up. RULES: I have never heard that you are supposed to stack unused tiles in piles of 7. OCD😂 So we are very, very satisfied. The RUMMIKUB (CUBE) APP is a ball. Read about the inventor of this game. It will astound you. A little Jewish immigrant to Israel at the turn of the 20th century who needed income. Carved game out of wooden pieces and sold it door to door. It swept the world. Hit America in mud ‘70’s. Now there are world championships. Excellent for travel and family.

This is a great set. The colors on the tiles are bright making it easier to distinguish the different colors. The racks are durable and easy to put together. The carrying case is an added bonus making this set very portable and making putting the game away a quick, easy task.

Love the racks and a snap to put together. They are long and stand very high. Perfect for my poor eyesight. The tiles are also very well-made. Look like the old Bakelite material. The numerals stand out and it’s not a guess if it’s a six or a nine as the marking is very distinct. The aluminum case is the best I’ve seen-very sturdy and the carrying handle is strong. This will go everywhere with me and it took just a minute to put everything back in its place. This is definitely a purchase I made that was perfect.

I have been playing this game since I was a kid saw it online. Bought it right away easy to play easy to store.

My family and I live in New Zealand and are currently in the midst of the coronavirus lockdown. We own a travel version of Rummikub which we enjoy but were constantly frustrated at its small fiddly size and with tiles always falling off the racks. We ordered this version which fortunately, still reached us during the lockdown. The game was well packaged - the pieces are inside a sturdy carrying case which was in a bubble-wrap bag and then enclosed inside the Kale box. The carry case is aluminium, solid-feeling and looks classy!! The racks are a perfect size and hold the tiles well - much better than the travel version we have. (Side note here - I read the review posted by 'Bruce' last April in which he comments on the poor engineering of the racks and how the tiles kept falling off. You can see by his picture that the legs are on backwards - if he'd connected the small angled part of the legs to the stand its angle would have been different and the tiles wouldn't tumble!!) The tiles are my favorite feature of the game - the melamine the're made of gives a weight that's nice to hold and a stone-like texture which feels superior to the plastic normally found inside board games. The numbers on the tiles are recessed, nicely painted and easy to differentiate. And again, a thousand times better to play with than the miniature version!! Were stuck inside the house most days and are playing Rummikub at least once per day... Great family game!!

Perfect game for two people who travel in their RV. Awesome rain day game. Quick to learn. Nice travel case. Case is thin enough I find a home on travel day.

This is a great game and we’re hooked. The game is sturdy and will make a great Christmas gift for at least 4 people I know.

I like the tiles, they feel like a stone and are nice to hold. The anti skid tile holders are nice, easy to read, and big but don't take up a lot of room. I like this set, glad I got it. Comfortable to play with- My only issue is with the Rummicub color convention not this set in particular. The colors are black, blue red and orange. My elderly mother has trouble distinguishing the blue and the black. I know the color convention is typical but if i could get a more distinctive color convention, I would That is why I gave it the 4. The bag of tiles was opened in my first order, and tiles were missing, so I had to exchange it. IF you get a sealed box on the outside and an open bag of tiles inside- check them. The amount of tiles were correct but there were missing tiles and triples of others. It was easy to exchange so not really an issue, just glad I checked it.
