Yes. Just used it today to transfer mash to 5 gallon carbon. Has a holding clip so you can adjust how far down the pick-up tube goes. Easy to start and use.

which material is the pipe made of?

It is not glass. It is of food grade plastic. I've had to replace mine twice due to the sanistar sanitizer causing cracking over time.
