Hi, what do you do when's it 's too wet? the bottom is firm and top is not workable because it just sticks to my hands.

Kneading it is the answer, the separation of oil and solids occurs through time. I find a pair of rubber food service gloves or a pair of tight fitting marigolds are good for this task as linseed oil isn’t great on your hands and you can get in about it and really work the material. Getting the lumps out is key, but if you are struggling then my guess is that it’s been stored too long and is a bit past it. If you just bought it take it back. That said 5 minutes of working the material should sort it out even if the stuff at the bottom is pretty firm.

Can my 3 year old help mixing this? I want to use it to make/decorate a few things with her

As I remember the product requires to be kneaded rather than mixed. It ends up a bit like a bread mix. I would keep a bowl of warm water handy for her to clean her hands and obviously make sure she keeps her hands away from her mouth as the product seems like a mixture of sand and oil.

Can the product still be used if the lid was cracked and therefore exposed to air? It seems okay but the pot fell and cracked the lid in storage

Can you dye the putty? Need a reddish colour

Sorry no idea but, why don’t you just paint over the putty with the colour you require. Not a water based paint as it would not bound to the putty.
