not a direct fit the first mirror has to be mounted flat must take the little bracket the old mirror sat on off an I had to drill an tap 2 holes to screw it down not to bad. the center of all mirrors must be same height as laser tube center. the rest was basically bolt on. the 3rd mirror is much better adjustments works very good.

Despite being labeled as a replacement for the K40 on the Cloudray website, this is not a direct fit. The first mirror mount is much too tall and will require complete re-mounting of the laser tube to match the new height. The second mount is a good direct fit. The laser head will require a custom mounting plate as it both longer and of a different diameter than the stock K40 head. The new head will also reduce Z depth by ~10mm. Other than the poor description concerning K40 fitup the parts are well made and of good material. Once fitted mirror alignment was significantly easier than with the stock mirror heads. Mention of needing a custom head mounting plate and/or warning that parts will not be a direct fit would be nice. Update: I was contacted by the seller and offered recompense for the miscommunication and an update to the description to confer that this item is compatible with the K40 style lasers but not a direct bolt in replacement. Review changed to 4 stars for excellent customer service. The items are otherwise of excellent quality.

I ended up re-working a K40 and found that the original mounts on flexible steel were just inadequate and my have been contributing to some of the issues, especially when I considered how to re-align the laser. So these fit the bill. I printed a mount from Thingiverse for the head (it was to replace the LightObject lens/mirror head, which worked fine, just because it would have more adjustability). The new laser head and mount (printed at 10% scale, the file was off for some reason) went together smoothly and easily replaced the factory sheet metal gantry. Adjustment is far easier/faster than the stock parts and they seem more rigid as well over the sheet metal system. Overall, I like it so far.

This set is NOT a direct fit for a K40 laser. Don’t understand why this seller is not 100% transparent about this fact, rather than lead buyers to believe it is. Be prepared to disassemble about half your machine to install them, also be prepared to go to hardware store to buy 14mm long M3 screws to put mirror #2 in because their is no mounting hardware included. Will this kit work , yes. Is it easy to do? Absolutely not. Requires drilling, fabrication and a ton of preparation to get mirror alignment where you can even adjust. Your also going to loose half the depth in your case to get your focal length correct for crisp clean cuts. Definitely would not recommend, I can’t go back now due to the modifications that were needed to install.

I like the fact that the laser head was machined so precisely, and the ease of disassembly.

Installed lens #2 so far in my k40. As others have stated, these are not drop-in replacements. I ended up elongating the adjustment slots by about 1/4" to get enough vertical adjustment to get the lens in alignment with stock #1 and needed longer mounting screws and some washers to mount to the x-axis motor. Replacement carriage mount will be necessary for the focus optics. I hope to be able to cut, glue and stack some acrylic to do this. No idea what lens #1 will involve at this point. Definitely sturdier than the stock sheetmetal mounts. Would be nice if the focus optics tube was not so long as it will require lowering the table.

My Old Assembly for K40, did not match the holes of this new Mirror Mounts, but drilled new holes in the mounting plate, new hardware, aligned the mount, with new Mirrors. My Focus Lens will be the next item. be sure to buy 3 mirrors also, this replacement assembles work very good !

I bought these as my 100 watt Co2 laser has never worked properly and I assumed it was the mirrors. I installed these in the same position as the old ones only to spend many hours attempting to align the beam. What these taught me was the original position of the mirror was wrong, once I gave up and made a custom mount, moving the 1st mirror over around 60mm it was aligned in less than an hour. So, worth the money? I would say so as I now have a working laser again. Let's just see how they hold up in use.
