









On the 16.09.1852 Heinrich Ludwig Neumann opens with his son Louis the confectionery sale „Felix & Sarotti" in the Berlin Friedrichstrasse. Luxurious oriental decoration underlines the opulence of the offered treats. Hugo Hoffmann, also a confectioner in Berlin, takes over "Felix & Sarotti" in 1872 and sells his products under the name "SAROTTI" from now on. The shop will be relocated to Mohrenstraße. At the beginning, a bear with a trunk and bees decorated the candy boxes of SAROTTI. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary on the 27.08.1918 the new trademark is registered: three carrots with tray. 1920-1923. During the inflation several branches and participations are acquired and resold. The SAROTTI range is expanding and the company enjoys a respected reputation as a manufacturer of the finest chocolate goods, the finest chocolates, the finest cocoa, the finest marzipan products, the finest fondants and finest liqueurs. RETRACT AFTER THE CRISIS 1929. The Swiss corporation for Nestlé products acquires the majority of shares in SAROTTI AG. In return, SAROTTI acquires the Nestlé factory in Hattersheim and receives licenses to manufacture various Swiss chocolate brands.
