For the starter moongazer
Yes, there are better, bigger and by far more expensive books out there. Yes, if you look on forums they'll probably advise well established big tomes. But I just started with astronomy and was looking for a book that would introduce me to lunar observing without making things too complicated. This one is well written, won't cost you an arm and a leg and the information offered can keep you busy for a long time, before you'll longer for a deeper approach. I like the format, there're plenty of sections of the moon, each with the prominents craters and features to see. It's agile, it's complete and still light. Nice grab'n go. Good piece of work from this author.

Handy Guide For Moon Enthusiasts
As a dedicated Moon observer, I own dozens of books about the Moon. My impression of this book is that it is an excellent primer for beginners as well as a good guide for experienced recreational astronomers. It is a concise 96 pages with relevant information necessary for enjoying the Moon in all its glory. I particularly like the photos and illustrations the author chose for teaching you where to observe along with descriptions of what you will see through your telescope. All major and minor surface features are discussed including craters, mountains, dry lava beds, valleys and more. Tom Kerss is an excellent writer and every page appears artistically and aesthetically well designed. In summary, this is nice Moon book worthy of a spot in your home library. See my photos for an example of whatโs inside.
